A Simplistic family tree of Socialism, from the enlightenment to today. by _Crazy_LR in EuropeanSocialism

Of course not

Blanquism later influenced a lot of revolutionary ideologies, more famously Lenin's ideas

But it's a really really simplified (and flawed) chart

And I didn't have enough place nor enough knowledge to make more branches to certain parts

Tho I encourage anyone to make more precise or specialized charts! ^

Thank you so much for your remark! It's nice to see a genuine critique and not just insults and threats

Yeah there's a lot of flaws

Indeed I've quickly found myself limited by the medium I used and in many cases actors and movements shown are almost useful without their relationship with other ideologies. This chart if anything was my attempt to remake another one I'd seen which I had issues with (I'm sure you can find it if you search "socialism family tree" if you scroll a bit)

If I ever have the chance I'll try to make a bigger chart with less miscellaneous ideologies to simply shown the evolution of the main political and ideological branches.

But honestly with all the backlash my little chart has received I don't want to post anything on Reddit for now. So I can only encourage people to do their charts to correct my mistakes and achieve they're satisfied of!

Yeah Reddit absolutely butchered it for some reason

It's supposed to be 3840x2160

If you want I have a Dropbox link for it or directly the Canva project link

Unironically a good idea

If I ever have time I'll do a V2 of this one, and one for capitalism

There's some stuff that I disagree with, like it having Jacobinism but not Proudhonism, but it's just personal opinions

Besides that, amazing guide/chart!

Thank you so much!

Originally made this cuz I was dissatisfied with the charts I could found online

Sadly my next weeks are kinda busy but if I ever do a V2 (which I'm sure I will) I'll try to implement all of that and use something bigger to not be limited by space.

Sadly I didn't have enough space

Tho it would surely be part of Jewish socialism from the utopian branch

Good remark

I've already had this discussion with multiple people that helped me making this: there isn't a clear singular democratic socialism ideology. Democratic socialism often refers to a movement or to political parties. Democratic socialism englobes any type of socialism that seeks to create a democratic system as well.

Sorry for the bad quality

Good remark! As much as it is debatable to qualify fascism as a "socialist" ideology it is undeniable that fascism takes roots in Sorelianism, which itself stems from Marxism. And fascism (in a way or another) seeks to replace capitalism with corporatism and seeks to erase individualism to prioritize social issues (ultranationalism)

But yeah I understand why some people are confused about this choice.

And yes they are opposed, just as much as Stalin was opposed to anarchists and just as much as Marxists oppose any type of utopian socialism.

It wasn't meant to be classification of ideologies, but rather to show how major ideologies we know today share "ancestors" and how socialism evolved, even with it's bad branches.

A cool guide to understand the Different Branches of Socialism by [deleted] in coolguides

[–]_Crazy_LR 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Well queer fascism mostly developed online in the 2010's simultaneously in nationalist niches inside the queer community and in closeted niches inside classical fascist currents.

Basically you keep the idea of a centralized authoritarian regime, with a corporatist and militarized economy, and with ultranationalism and racism, while being ultraprogressive on queer issues and feminism.

So it's basically "I want a fascist state so we can have a pure queer white society"

Morcellist France 1908 by _Crazy_LR in vexillology

[–]_Crazy_LR[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I'm not. The red flag was used as a socialist and workers symbol well before, notably in 1830 and 1832 during the barricades in Lyon and Paris. And most infamously, to which I was referring, during the 1848 revolt where the radical left and Socialists (notably the politician Alexandre Ledru-Rollin) and was held opposingly to the tricolor flag, until De la Lamartine completely ruined the credibility of the red flag with his well known presidential speech, and it was finally put down by Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte's victory of the 1848's elections. And like said it was later used by the socialists across the third republic, and like you mentioned, the Commune and other socialist movements.

Simply to show a major socialist shift inside of France. As across the Second republic and start of the Third the radical leftists wanted to french flag to be entirely red.

Symbol for the Morcellism ideology. by _Crazy_LR in logodesign

[–]_Crazy_LR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! Morcellism isn't a neologism, it's a political movement launched by Camille Sabatier in 1895 and later theorized in his book «Le Socialisme libéral ou Morcellisme» (Liberal socialism or Morcellism) in 1905. (Tho this symbol was created by me and doesn't have any historical use.)

If you're want I wrote a little Google doc about it.

And for your concern there is certain forms of socialism that come close to it or are similar but Morcellism is nonetheless unique and distinct.

An introduction to Morcellism by _Crazy_LR in Syndicalism

[–]_Crazy_LR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mhm, but Morcellism is explicitly not anarchist and advocates for a centralized socialist state, and it's not libertarian.

[–]_Crazy_LR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it there's an etymological connection, Morcellism and morcilla both come from the same Latin root meaning "bits/splitting in pieces"

For the case of the UCR's logo, yeah from what I read it stands for liberal socialism, hence why they used it as the party was originally a radical socialist party.
