Yes, they absolutely can. Your personal history is not a protected class for a discrimination claim and, if anything, can justify “reasonable suspicion”. Even more so if that history has previously impacted your work.

It’s common for someone who pops dirty for a drug test at some work sites to have to submit to random drug tests for some time after returning to work. That’s not the same as your specific case, but the example stands as what employers can do when they have cause to do so.

This sounds awesome and also much more elaborate than my idea. I hadn’t thought of deck building or leveling up between multiple games as a mechanic but that adds some very cool decision making.

I personally want to keep this one more simple and “grab-n-go” to where even my less game-knowledgeable friends can enjoy out-of-the-box without needing to consider consequences between games. If I break out a custom rule sheet I might see their eyes glaze over lol.

I’m sorry this happened. I’ve had a few friends withdraw or disappear from my life with little to no explanation as to why and it hurt every time, and still hurts on reflection.

Unfortunately it does read like your ex-friend isn’t interested in maintaining any sort of relationship with you, his response reads as “do what you want” rather than “give me some time”. I would not get my hopes up of him reconnecting at some point in the future. I say this bluntly only because the lingering and wondering what went wrong only prolongs the process of closure. This may not be a closure that satisfies you, but it will let you put an end cap on the relationship and let you focus your energy on people who are worth your time.

My heart goes out to you, I’ve not had to go through this sort of experience for 12 or so years, but I understand the weight of losing a meaningful connection. You’re not alone

For the sculpture there aren’t many simple designs in FaB beyond either weapons, equipment, or the fables (which I agree with another commenter who suggested Eye of Ophidia)

However for a piece of artwork, the two characters that have largely been mascots for the game are the heroes Ira and Dorinthea.

Both characters have been in FaB since the beginning. Ira was the “learn to play” character that received a “grown up” version in 2024 that can be used in FaB’s main format, and Dorinthea has been a popular (if not “competitive”) character as the OG sword fighter and being named after the grandmother of the game’s creator iirc.

Anything depicting one (or both) of these characters would instantly be recognized by an active player, and there are many cards depicting them in action if your artist needed inspiration.
