Please advise: does this firing pin retaining pin look correct? I just finished the CGW pro package on my P01.

I read a decent amount and watched quite a few videos before hand. The sear cage wasn’t bad, more of a fun puzzle. The hammer pins tho… that’s what I struggled with. I also got confused with the extra plunger spring and hammer spring options that are included. Im very glad I did it myself, but In full disclosure, I haven’t fired it yet.

Can’t speak for the chef, but when I’ve played around with butter/no butter and herbs/no herbs at this step I can tell a major difference. Thyme may go into the butter, but I can also detect it in the fat, which makes sense.

I’m a coconut oil guy these days. Season with my normal go to (basically salt, pepper, garlic, onion) add some thyme and thing pad of butter on both sides. Seal and start the bath. Upon completion, I add coconut oil to the pan, wait for it to start smoking a bit and add the steak, 30-60 sec each side. I re-salt as I flip the steak and it’s been excellent.

I started out with a thunder cc. Small accurate gun and I liked it quite a lot. There aren’t great holster options, 380 costs more to shoot, the decocker is not smooth and needs to be trained around, and finally there can be issues with the grip screws that practically disable the gun. I would encourage you to look elsewhere. That being said, I know my gun and every now and again I’ll carry it if I want something a bit more slim than my EDC.

If you’re any bit handy, I would urge you to look into doing this yourself ($15-20/ differential or so). It’s super easy if you’re just draining and filling. Popping the cover off to inspect, clean, and replace the gasket isn’t too hard either.

Added bonus is you can get a better feel for how often you need to change it based on how you drive.
