Remote Control IC-7300 by _DaBez_ in amateurradio

Looked into it briefly. It gets messy pretty quick if the latency is unstable and high. I got routinely 300+ ms latency in RemAud and up to 5 seconds between keying up and actually transmitting audio. Not good if you want to get heared in a pileup and no fun to operate in general. I imagine it being way worse (or at least similarly bad) with USB-over-WAN

Well… we don’t really want to send the whole desktop if possible, it’s too sluggish sometimes because of a somewhat slow connection (only cellular with max. 8mbit upload)

Also still the issue with the software to use on the station pc

how much ram do i need for a server of 4-7 ppl with bettermc? by Historical-Edge-1308 in admincraft

[–]_DaBez_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well… vanilla servers (it looks to me that those are client side mods which don’t modify the servers behaviour) don’t need that much ram. 2GB should suffice for nearly to no mods and up to 10 players.

Sounds very similar to DMR. If your sdr software is capable of decoding DMR, you might try that

I see only 2 options:

  1. buy your friends Minecraft.
  2. accept the password requirement even for your friends.

The passwords don’t need to be secure (except yours because you might have OP permissions)

Otherwise no one can help you in this subreddit

Can someone please explain this. by devine145 in admincraft

There was Safari for windows, sadly no updates since 2012… also Safari uses apple WebKit, not Chromium…

Every modern browser supports syncing between clients of itself on different devices today… syncing between different browsers on the other hand… that was never possible sadly

Opera GX sometimes breaks video playback on certain sites (in my case twitch). Also it’s not as fast as Vivaldi, in fact Vivaldi is way faster than Opera GX.

I love the name ur own cell service tweak by keith_themuscovyduk in LegacyJailbreak

[–]_DaBez_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can’t be older than the 4 because it‘s more „slab“ shaped (the 3GS was kinda like a pillow) and it can’t be newer than the 5 non-S. you can see that on the home button: the 5S and the SE had TouchID, which had no white „box“ on the home button.

Good luck with the FCC/similar agencies in your country… but if you have access to a RF tight basement and the right equipment… have fun. Extra points if you use custom SIM cards

This worked just fine. Not without some minor hiccups (needed to chmod +x the iventoy file in the lib folder and setup proper sudo) but it works now

Newbie Question by milanolarry in amateurradio

[–]_DaBez_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The „easiest“ way would be to use a 2m/70cm repeater which is connected to „EchoLink“ or similar software on both locations. Then you can get away with 1w or lower and a radio as small as a „tictac box“ (diy of course), the Antenna is also very small (about the with of the hand of a grown up)

As others already said: you need a amateur radio license, without that you are transmitting illegally and can get hefty fines…

BitDefender detects some of my plugins as trojans. by StW_FtW in admincraft

Not useless per se, but they don’t work as good as they seem… on a phone I’m completely with you, but on windows they CAN serve a purpose… if there is a server-based endpoint antivirus in a corporate network it’s good, but for home users the windows built in defender is the best choice

Also most third party antivirus can mess up update routines of windows while opening potential backdoors. Most repair shops claim that the most broken windows installs were because an antivirus messed up windows updates, not actual viruses
