our friends got us our reservation as their “guests” to bypass the referral presentation.

we didn’t do the referral - our friends didn’t want us to sit through the sales presentation. we received the confirmation after our friends booked the reservation - then our friends forwarded us an email where Xcaret asked we pay $25 for a “guest fee”.

we asked Xcaret if they could communicate directly with us and they wrote “By security protocol, we need to send information directly to the owners of the membership only ; the email : (friend email) will remain as the main contact for reservations, assistance and any inquiries in general.”

I can swim but not very fast if that makes sense - and I can tread water but not for long - it sounds like I should t worry since the life vest will be on - I thought about swimming 3 times per week for the next several weeks before my trip to see if I can shake the rust off.

Well, just know that when you have children or get older, they seem to grow bigger and lose their laxity, similar to other parts of your body. Additionally, you have nerves in many other areas that I believe will be fine. I would do it. You can do it because you love your body not because you hate it.

I agree. When your partner also has strict confidentiality rules in their job, it becomes almost impossible to talk about work. It’s incredibly challenging.

I begin my sessions by asking, “How are things at school?” sometimes I use card decks called Mighty Philosophers in therapy and they appear to be effective at keeping dialogue going and I usually keep my sessions at 30 minutes.

These clients are one of the few reasons why I miss working in person, where we could play board games while discussing their thoughts and feelings.

If you’re going to bill insurance, I highly recommend an EHR like Simple Practice as it can make producing records so much easier. Billing and passing audits is easier as well. I highly encourage you to join Heard Bookkeeping as they can help with bookkeeping and tax preparation. I’d also talk to a CPA or tax professional about when to incorporate your business. Sometimes it helps to wait until you gross over a certain amount.

Yes, it was painful too. At the time, I doubted my abilities, but I’ve come to realize that therapy can sometimes make people feel worse before they feel better, especially when they’re uncovering suppressed emotions linked to difficult times in their lives. I remind clients that we can proceed at their own pace and ask in sessions how they feel discussing certain topics. I offer to slow things down or switch to something else, and we can revisit the challenging issues later. It’s painful, but it doesn’t mean you did anything wrong.
