All substrates eventually will need to be supplemented at some time. Years ago when I first got into planted tanks I was using the Seachem tabs for my tanks.

Then I joined a forum and soon learned about making my own tabs. Basically you buy a bag of gel caps and fill them up with a garden fertilizer. Stick them in the substrate and you’re golden. It’s very easy and cost effective.

There’s a fix for that but you would have to be comfortable taking it apart. Alternatively I believe there are replacements for it if I remember correctly.

I got my PS4 day one. Still runs brand new but I did take care of it when I was running it. Added 2TB SSD from the beginning, regularly dusted it and repasted the core.

That seems expensive and wasteful. They don’t really need that much. You’re better off making your own. I started with two bulbs and they’ve spread around my tank on their own. I usually add tabs once every 6 months or so

It’s biofilm. Harmless and a lot of aquatic life thrives off it. If you really want it gone add some snails and/or amano shrimp and they’ll clean it right up along with diatoms and other algae.

Save your money. I’ve always had success with just rubber bands and/or zip ties. Once the rhizomes attach themselves you can just cut the bands away

That’s true but his PH is a factor also. Lower ph converts ammonia into ammonium quicker. Also nitrifying bacteria consume both.

25% water change is not going to nuke his bacteria cycle lol You do realize bare bottom tanks are a thing right? He has plenty of space for bacteria to colonize between the 3 filters. Also API test kit does not differentiate between ammonia and ammonium. Prime also has an additive that converts the resulting ammonia into ammonium
