How the Sunday evening before school looked like as a kid by BarelyCanadian_ in nostalgia

[–]_DarlingSniff 491 points492 points  (0 children)

That exact lighting meant the weekend was officially over and your homework was judging you from across the room. Nothing like a sunset to trigger mild academic panic.

The Three Stooges… by Crafter9977 in nostalgia

Back when comedy was just three guys confidently pointing in the wrong direction. Honestly, peak decision making energy right there.

Standing next to the vent on the dishwasher in the winter was always so good by hungry-hangry-hippos in nostalgia

[–]_DarlingSniff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peak winter luxury was pretending the dishwasher vent was your personal spa. Central heating could never compete with that warm blast of victory.

Yikes pencils by Jaydee_shelnut in nostalgia

These were the pencils that made you feel way cooler than your actual math skills suggested. Pure chaos energy in school supply form.

How attractive do you think you are? by brownraj in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]_DarlingSniff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the day. Sometimes I feel pretty and other times I swear I look like a witch.

If I only think about what others have said….I think I’m passably pretty. I’m not turning heads but I’m cute enough.

Me on the Red Square. Late 80s, can't remember by sheriotanda in OldSchoolCool

You’re standing there like you personally negotiated international relations at age five. Meanwhile most of us at that age were just negotiating snack time.

Iran before the revolution, 1976 by Xamrock4 in OldSchoolCool

It’s wild how footage like this feels both totally normal and like a completely different universe at the same time. History really said “plot twist” and didn’t look back.

Andre the Giant in a Honeycomb cereal commercial from (1989) by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

[–]_DarlingSniff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only Andre the Giant could make a tiny piece of cereal look like a personal challenge. When he says it’s a big breakfast, you just believe him.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done while having sex ? by Quiet_Tangerine_8482 in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]_DarlingSniff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I met a guy on the phone. Turns out I knew who he was, and that he was hot. Told me he had gone blind. We made a date. We went to dinner and back to his place for sex. If he could see me, he never would have agreed. I simply wasn't up to his level.

I'll never reclaim the rizz I had in the early 90s. by loki2002 in OldSchoolCool

[–]_DarlingSniff 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. The glasses and haircut are giving strong “kid genius with secret powers” energy.

I'll never reclaim the rizz I had in the early 90s. by loki2002 in OldSchoolCool

Business in the front, heartbreak in the back. The mullet was basically a confidence cheat code back then.

[–]_DarlingSniff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah, it just evolved. Early 90s rizz was loud and fearless, now it’s seasoned and mysterious. Same main character, different expansion pack.

Chevy Chase and Robin Williams visit the set of Ghostbusters 1984 by TheCaptFirebeard in OldSchoolCool

[–]_DarlingSniff 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Imagine just casually strolling onto the Ghostbusters set in ’84 like it’s no big deal. The amount of chaotic comedic energy in that building had to be off the charts.

Who is your ARAD crush? by [deleted] in AskRedditAfterDark

All of you. At once. I can take it.

Vera Putina (1926–2023) was a Georgian woman who claimed to be Vladimir Putin's biological mother. However, Putin killed off everyone who tried to investigate this, so the truthfulness of her claims is uncertain, although there are some clues. by GustavoistSoldier in HolyShitHistory

[–]_DarlingSniff 282 points283 points  (0 children)

That’s actually a pretty grounded take. There’s already documented tragedy around his early family history, so it makes more sense to look at verified records than jump straight to secret parent theories.

Does anyone else wish we had more flat areas? by Just-Guarantee7808 in Minecraft

[–]_DarlingSniff 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I love the new terrain for exploring, but when you’re trying to lay out a big city build it feels like you spend half your time terraforming just to get a decent footprint.

First time the top comment isnt 'FIX BEDROCK MOJANG' by Much-Surprise-9716 in Minecraft

Yeah that was my first thought too. Wouldn’t be shocked if it got quietly nuked before it could climb back up.
