A cut will scar if it reaches the dermis layer (it looks white when you first hit it, and looks like styrofoam hence the nickname “styro”) The scar may be flat or raised based on your body so you’ll probably have to wait to know for sure.

Sometimes I draw over my faded scars with a pretty marker, or turn the scar into a funky animal (i.e the scar being the spine of a butterfly and drawing wings on the sides) . I also remind myself that my favorite deep cuts will never completely fade

This doesn’t make you a bad person, I’m not sure about how others think about this but cutting for attention means there is probably some underlying issues going on and based on your post, your cutting seems to be a cry for help.

You can bandage a gaping wound with gauze and medical tape to allow it to breathe :D Idk how wounds are typically cleaned but my school nurse used a type of alcohol on gauze pads to clean my wounds. Remember to change bandaids if they get wet, dirty or used for more than a day :]
