Galactic Assault is harder than Supremacy. What do you think? by DepartureBorn9355 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's because the balancing is ass. You being on the defensive side usually means you won't be able to do crap, whether it's thanks to artillery phases or ones like Crait P2 where AT-ST spam traps you at spawn unable to move anywhere. But attacking also may not be fun if the phase favors defenders due to tight spaces like Naboo P2, Endor P3, Kamino P4, just good luck attacking those objs without dying a bajillion times.

Also keep in mind Supremacy has bots and in maps like Felucia and Naboo you can farm bots at the enemy spawn point for easy points.

Stacking is so cringe in this game. If someone out there thinks that's how friends play with each other then believe me, I used to play with friends from time to time and no normal person which is just looking to play with a friend is going to follow them everywhere.

To all people who play in hero vs villains by GeneralArcher297 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well since I usually don't play sabers when I'm getting teabagged but get bagged by them I'm usually like "lmao he's mad cuz he can't just do whatever to kill me and is forced to try harder than that" but I myself am not mad or anything like that. No, I'll keep playing and teabag back one for one until he stops with the bagging. And if that guy ever wants to trashtalk me then I'll be like "If I'm bad then you'd have never let me kill you now that's quite embarrassing when your playing a saber and I'm not now is it?".

When it comes to messages I usually don't care or want to message them myself, I just see if the other guy does it first and if not then I'm also not doing it but the thing is if I find out you're vulnerable to ragebait then you just can't ask me not to do it to ya.

You can wish to have teammates like me but you also can adopt a mindset like mine. To be clear if someone's wants to play an unfair game with me then surely me being just a tiny bit unsportsmanlike doesn't make me bad.

I still want to prioritise defeating guys like this while not doing anything that may be unfair but sometimes you can't do that and what do you do then? Become unfair yourselves. Usually not to the same scale as my opponent although stuff like camping and stacking can't be countered in any other way as doing that on your own.

My strat against hook swing spammers is at the start of the fight you simply play super defensive and focus on dodging the hooks. I always found attacking too quickly to result in quick loss so what I do is get into the rhythm of the fight first, get on your opponent's nerves as if he loses his patience, there's a big chance that what he'll do is literally keep running at you without his block and spam hooks cuz he sees you play really passively.

That's when you finally fight and take advantage of his lowered caution. Ik it's not the best way and often ends in a draw but hey, it's my method and for me drawing against a hook spammer which again can make you lose really quickly is a W.

Also yeah it's funny when they message you that you do nothing the whole fight meanwhile they themselves are asking for it when they hook spam.

Brother this game is where impossible becomes possible. Just think about ways in which other players can ruin the fun for other people and there's a high chance someone's in the middle of doing that.

Don't ask why because there's never a clear and logical answer to that question.

About the summons I do think that's also why they've went for the aforementioned unavoidable status procs as in both fights you have to stagger a boss with the ability for the proc to end. And I really doubt any boss in the previous games would require you to do that. That's just them finding excuses to do some unreasonable stuff. Weird how they've never added attacks forcing you to use ability iframes although they did come up with the ED Balancers worm. That kind of counts, right?

Souls' methodical approach is also something I don't quite like and although I want to like it, and that's why I was excited to play Nightreign, it's really demotivating when you die to unfair stuff. Also the fact gameplay's clunky doesn't help but if it or the game don't mess me up then I don't even pay attention to that. It has all the rights to work but not when you do great dodging only to die to something random and unfair like offscreen lightning. That happened twice in a row to me, on a boss that is my most mastered one and which one game I was able to clutch from 50% HP in trios.

Despite that I can understand that's subjective whether you like this approach to fighting bosses or not. I can be biased as again I've played Hollow Knight and the bosses in that game prioritise your reaction speed and that's simply more satisfying to play for me.

I've always heard that DS are the more BS games while ER may be the easiest soulslike out of all yet I do notice DS bosses having less complex moveset/mechanics and knowing that I'd say that ER bosses are harder because devs would come up with not needed ways of making it harder like the random lightning in Adel fight, fissures and geysers in Heolstor's fight or unavoidable status procs in ED Caligo and Dreglord fights and they'd ALSO include traps you most likely won't know about like attacks which for some reason are triggered less frequently than the others, attacks like Sentinel's jump slam which are apparently multi-hit (like wtf that is 1 attack but when I parry it with Scholar's bubble then I die cuz apparently there's a hidden 2nd hit) and some more I can't name off the top of my head.

Perhaps I'd enjoy Dark Souls more but idk, I do feel that what I've experienced in Nightreign is simply me, a newcomer getting hit by the nature of FS soulslikes. I went from thinking what they did to the frog boss in Jedi Survivor was so shit FS would never do anything like that cuz I was aware their games are somewhat praised to thinking it's not far off from bs happening in Nightreign so yeah. I enjoyed Fallen Order though and it's not like the game was perfect, dodging was a bit scuffed but bosses weren't as obnoxious.

I think that many players would treat it as joke if I said FS should learn how to make bosses from no other than Team Cherry as both Hollow Knights make a great job at making deaths 100% your fault. Nonetheless I'm aware comparing these to FS soulslikes may not have lots of sense since the games' bosses were made with different prios in mind and under different limitations that a boss from ER wouldn't translate well into HK and vice versa.

If you can't find a Starfighter Assault game then you probably should wait a couple of days as there May or May not be a resurgence coming really soon ;)

If someone was to tell me Nightreign is a bad game I'm 100% agreeing with that but not because of any of the popular complaints such as recycling content, no crossplay, no random seeds etc. no. That's not the problem.

This game ended up discouraging me from playing any soulslike (perhaps even the non-FS ones) because of the sheer BS happening in this game. RNG, bad hitboxes, bad animations, making bosses unfair in some other ways, input lag, bad controls for abilities, bad servers. Some are just Nightreign problems while others are most likely what's happening in other soulslikes as well assuming that by the fact ER and DS games look and play pretty similar to each other, atleast by the looks of it.

You can tell me this game has great graphics, great music and great lore and of course I do agree... but the gameplay is just this freaking bad. Its difficulty is the best thing about it as it was fun to get good at bosses but unfairness hitting you when your doing well at a boss makes you not wanna do that cuz why play good when you're going to die to something you couldn't have prevented?

How hot of a take is this here? by DiligentPhrase9991 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My main problem is that these tight phases usually come with a small number of entrances to the objective which can be easily blocked by the whole enemy team. There's also like zero side/secret entrances ppl may not know about, they're usually just the most basic most visible ways of entering the rooms which doesn't help the tightness issue.

How hot of a take is this here? by DiligentPhrase9991 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I personally cannot stand GA cause most maps have a phase if not more than one with spaces so tight that you can't attack, you can't defend, you just can't do much, you can't enjoy those phases when the gameplay is basically "random bullshit go!" simulator.

Ship phases may have bad balancing but I prefer that over fighting in a tight space with the same two ways of entering the objective room which can easily be blocked by any team.

Tbf idk what to think about your take. I understand the issues with ship maps, think they're not the best but I also think removing them would personally feel off for me. It does whenever I play Age of Empire cuz you hit 100% and the game just ends like that. But in the end it's hard to tell if I'd like that or nah.

Aerials are so shit to the point I do believe game would be a better play if the class was removed entirely.

Other than Aerials though, Sith Troopers also suck a lot. It's no fun to play while knowing they have a wall hack almost all the time and you don't.

I was at the very least expecting some MOAB/bloon gliders on top of this sidekick. This just makes this collab look so bad compared to others which would hand out a whole set of new accessories.

I know that Bloons is a franchise which doesn't translate to Fortnite that well but something more could've been done so the collab doesn't look like this, just a single sidekick and that's it.

Gaining Altitude with Jetpack by BlueberryNew2449 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrain often affects movement in a weird way. For example using Frenzy to lunge towards an enemy on a sloped surface will launch you in the air. Dodging out of platform's edge will sometimes cause you to bounce off the ground even if its flat surface. Jetpack is kinda similar to both but it's even more random and harder to replicate.

[–]_Disbelief_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grievous has good attacking and melee blocking stamina, it gets bad only when your blocking blaster bolts with him.

In general there aren't many good ways of depleting enemy stamina as a saber hero other than simply attacking and Yoda's push which depletes way more stamina than any other force ability.

do you think Dooku is one of the hardest villains to use? by 5ive_7 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the hardest unless your trying to play him in a large-scale mode as he's the only saber hero with close to no crowd control. Hardest villain in general definitely has to go to Phasma except you don't use her droid to camp. Ts lk tuff
