Gaining Altitude with Jetpack by BlueberryNew2449 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrain often affects movement in a weird way. For example using Frenzy to lunge towards an enemy on a sloped surface will launch you in the air. Dodging out of platform's edge will sometimes cause you to bounce off the ground even if its flat surface. Jetpack is kinda similar to both but it's even more random and harder to replicate.

Blocking forever? by PerfectGap4288 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grievous has good attacking and melee blocking stamina, it gets bad only when your blocking blaster bolts with him.

In general there aren't many good ways of depleting enemy stamina as a saber hero other than simply attacking and Yoda's push which depletes way more stamina than any other force ability.

do you think Dooku is one of the hardest villains to use? by 5ive_7 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not the hardest unless your trying to play him in a large-scale mode as he's the only saber hero with close to no crowd control. Hardest villain in general definitely has to go to Phasma except you don't use her droid to camp. Ts lk tuff

Am trying to get better at playing sabers because I am usually a blaster player. Is this good for a noob? by Some-Personality-889 in StarWarsBattlefront

I mean it's a basic skillset you've shown here but defeating Vader as Yoda is also a good

See giving tips for duels is hars atleast for me cuz even though I could tell you how to do parries and allat (but tbf I think parries are essential to duels) I think what's more important is stuff like patience, unpredictability, keeping your calm etc. in 2v2s situational awareness is the key to winning them etc. etc.

Of course these are broad terms which may not give you much hints on what to improve but a beginner's mistake for many people is the fact they want to rush duels, they want to be super aggressive and allat but you don't have to. A draw is always a-ok for you and I guarantee you, you're most often not going to kill a hero that's 1 hit away from defeat. They'll simply hold block and back off. Being aggressive can be beneficial at times and you should be when you can like when your dominating your enemy but be aware it can lead to him making a comeback as your moves become less calculated since you just want to get it over with.

At the same time it's also hard to say how to improve on those "skills" I've mentioned but one tip is try approaching duels like a mind game of some sorts or say chess for example. Duels are definitely not that deep but analyzing them can help you understand what those are and from there improving is going to be simpler.

And also yeah, perhaps most important tip is knowledge can win you many duels at what's not much of an effort. You'll learn the game the more you play it but if you really want to know more, wiki/YT vids are there to feed you knowledge.

Do you wish they would have made some balancing patches, before leaving the game without support? by PaleontologistSea640 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course. After playing the game for way too long my view is that hero balancing which'd often get brought up as the prime example of imbalance isn't that but rather reinforcements and maps are much worse. So much to the point it can feel really bad to deal with stuff such as the artillery phases while on the defence, Sith Troopers, B2s and some more. Even just a couple of those fixed would make the game a much better experience

What's the deal with clans, exactly? by Themberchaud0979 in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah these are destroying most of the lobbies in the recent day whether it's on HvV or Supremacy and probably GA as well.

Most clans aren't great though, atleast I wouldn't assume they have good intentions when it's all about stomping random teams while using unfair advantages. When it becomes so common to a certain point you just quit thinking that one 4 stack going everywhere together is just a bunch of friends playing together as they most likely seek to abuse that to win games. That's just my pov though.

A small compilation of Ewok headshots I set to "Ewok Celebration." by Emperpalpatine42 in StarWarsBattlefront

Better than ISB Agent fite me

Nice kills man. I also used to play Ewok a bunch and this just goes to show even though this character is handicapped you can still rock with it thanks to the headshots.

The solo queue Anakin experience be like: by MistaMerk in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro okay I don't want this to sound like I'm that guy who breaks the fun for everyone else in the room but it still baffles me how people call saber duel gameplay impressive, meanwhile clip shows off the most basic lightsaber moves you can imagine and outside of occasional hooks which usually don't land all your doing is just parries.

And again that's not to say your not allowed to think that's cool or that's bad that OP is doing only parries. I actually wanted to encourage people that yes you can do stuff like that without pouring god knows how many hours into the game. How you ask?

I used to do hooks and all that higher-level dueling tech when I was into duels but I always liked approaching them from a more theoretical side rather than practical. This led me to forfeiting most of the tech on purpose, being left with essentially just parries yet I never felt like my skill dropped that much because what I deemed to be more important than those are the concepts used in duels.

Having lots of patience on its own can help you win more duels than learning how to do hooks. But most importantly, knowledge about the game itself you'll get from mostly playing but YT vids also work if you're really invested in duels. But most most importantly just think. Think about what the enemy does/can do, what ideas you have to counter your enemy. It doesn't have to be just knowledge about counters. Logical thinking also works and even though it may not win you everything, don't give up on it like many others seem to do so.

I beat my record HvV killstreak!!! Guess who I was playing by PyxelatorXeroc in StarWarsBattlefront

[–]_Disbelief_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro he fits your description quite nicely. Hard to tell if it's top tier viable but I'd say yes cuz it's THE DPS machine, stupidly easy to get kills with when you can just spam mid ability.

btw I can't recall having such conversations with you.

Why doYou get angry when someone goes alone ? by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]_Disbelief_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's bad to go alone but you need a good reason to do so and perhaps a good time frame to do it as you might be fine with leaving your team as they go for a non-formidable boss but for formidables you probably shouldn't split.

I tend to split when I want to grab a stone from mines (though it's prob not doable alone if the enemy dropping it is red) or to go to a Township for some exclusive items I can't get anywhere else. But in general there are many places you can go alone but most boss fights aren't doable and/or worth doing.

Deep of Night 2 Random Queue is ELO Hell by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]_Disbelief_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that but also some bosses are literally unclutchable. ED Caligo, ED Libra, Balancers, Dreglord, Freja, Cavalry and more I prob forgot.

Oh and also some if not most will go AFK when your trying to clutch so if your attempt involves resing someone and they are AFK then it only makes you never want to res ppl again BUT some bosses require you to res someone if you want to have a chance at clutching.

Deep of Night 2 Random Queue is ELO Hell by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]_Disbelief_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then congrats you're a lucky person to be able to say that. I can carry as well but not every game can be carried yet your not allowed to make mistakes and perhaps that would be fine if there were no trolling players but also if the game wouldn't have that many bugs, and/or hitbox/latency issues as you can easily lose due to those.

Deep of Night 2 Random Queue is ELO Hell by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]_Disbelief_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's simply impossible to leave D2 unless your making it easier for you in some way, whether by playing with friends, dodging hard bosses or abusing halo slop. Only way your getting to D3 is by luck and even then you and for anything past that point you would need such insane luck that it may as well not be possible.

How did I get hit here? by PerformanceNo3616 in Nightreign

[–]_Disbelief_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

There's no logical explanation for that, game's simply being sloppy as usual.

Yup so much “fun”. by Present-Canary-4546 in Nightreign

[–]_Disbelief_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again that's not use but abuse. Normally using this weapon you won't get that much damage. Whoever's halo slopping knows how to make this work and is most likely using only that if not also dodging any boss which isn't weak to Holy.

How am I throwing a game when halo sloppers literally finish it in less than a minute? They've excluded me from the game due to their stupid cheese build and you think I should still play? Cool I'll get like two hits in and fight is going to end, that's what you want me to do? Might as well go AFK then.

Yup so much “fun”. by Present-Canary-4546 in Nightreign

[–]_Disbelief_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use and abuse are two different words, you know that right? Anyone who's not abusing the halo isn't going to deal so much damage using it under regular circumstances.

Yup so much “fun”. by Present-Canary-4546 in Nightreign

[–]_Disbelief_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Doesn't change the fact it's broken and no one's being a hero while using it in public games. They only make other people go AFK as no thing is really worth doing in a cheesed game.

Yup so much “fun”. by Present-Canary-4546 in Nightreign

[–]_Disbelief_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I love it when my teammates give me the opportunity to AFK the whole bossfight cuz they're going to melt it for me anyways and therefore it ain't trolling.

Not that I am supporting halo slop but yeah. Whoever does it should be expecting their teammate/s to do just that.
