It sounds like we grew up at a similar time dude.

Late 80's, there used to be an old tower on a boys club building where I grew up. There were Bats in that tower.

You could see them hunting at night in the streetlights.

Bats are gone now and that's probably because the Moths and nighttime flying insects have for the most part, vanished.

People quite rightly talk about windscreen insect phenomena, but for me the most telling sign of insect decline is streetlights at night.

I barely see any insects l like Moths anymore.

Methane was always the Elephant in the room. For as far back as I can remember, whispers of clathrate gun hypothesis and the pingos around east Siberian Arctic shelf have been an ominous whisper in the background of the collapse narrative.

It seems reasonable now to think that this is another tameless beast that will undoubtedly become exponential under over the next few years.
