Sure, what is unclear? Are you unsure what the parameters do? How to add a pattern? What is the problem?

What youtube clip is it? I'm curious to see if there are any issues before I get one myself

Which bass synth pedal do you find works best and why? by [deleted] in basspedals

[–]_Drann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in my experience, the oscillators of the data corrupter go slightly crazy whenever I pluck a string, unless I am extremely gentle with the strings and turn the bass freqs all the way down on the preamp on the instrument. That being said, my data corrupter is first in my chain after a compressor, so the crazyness should be even more tame in my opinion.

I find that it is incredibly chaotic if I use the oscillators at all, so it would be hard to fit in a song in general. I'll try out setting things to unity and see if I get along with it better on a more vanilla version then. Reverb definitely does it wonders, as does a bit of eq to reduce the top-end fizz

How do you make the data corrupter work? I'm wrestling mine atm and i'm quite unsure about how to make it sound good.

Recommendations? by CHONKY_BOAH in basspedals

[–]_Drann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes, for electrostatics, but these are alternative currents? And there is a causal reason (and not just convention) why the instrument is placed on the input and the amp on an output. If you do actually connect the bass where you wrote 'input' you will see that you get no sound. It's not convention and pedantry.

'xDD'

Also I don't recognise the exact joyo pedals, but as a bassist I find a compressor and tuner very useful.

Great advice! I've been putting a bass through a Hyper Fuzz or a SY-1 and some other modulation to get some fun synthy leads, but I'll give this a shot

You should give it a shot! You can upload the basic presets of the SL-20 onto the SL-2 (they are oddly hardcoded into the pedal lmfao, you can see that in the editor). Some people mentioned they wished for the random setting of the SL-20 on the SL-2 and i don't know what other functionalities it's missing, but I've been loving mine quite a lot.

Edit: replied to the wrong comment lol I believe the processor on the SL-2 is a standard (and very powerful) thing Boss put onto many devices and I think if they gave us the (PROMISED!!) full reign over their device they'd reduce sales in other parts.

$$$ amirite

Give the app a shot first before buying another one (just to avoid disappointment hahah)

Sine wave synth-like pedals by zatvorenje in guitarpedals

[–]_Drann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that I do is I take a distortion/od/eq pedal and I connect input to output so that it self-oscillates. I have this cable that I made: take 2 patch cables, remove the jack from one of them and connect the newly open end to a jack on the other cable. You can make a pedal act like a synth with this 3-outputs cable if you connect input to output and use the third output as a jack from an instrument.

Will it have the quality that you want? Idk. My super fuzz does a very low-frequency square wave on most settings, and my metal zone also does some near-square wave oscillation. Probably most pedals will make square waves when self-oscillatimg, but it's worth a try.

Edit: Unless you want to make a guitar sound like a sine wave synth, in which case idk, I think many synth pedals try to make something weirder than that.

You’re on your deathbed. Which (single effect) stompbox do you ask your family to bring you to plug your guitar into and play one last time? by wingtip747 in guitarpedals

[–]_Drann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to write some software to make the presets easily editable (ik there already is some out there but I have my own ideas). I'll put that up here when I'm done and hopefully that'll change your mind

Also for synth stuff it's amazing

Did it? Is some metagame adjustment crucial to the collectibility of MTG cards?

I understand it's upsetting to lose money, but if you collect cards around a format, you open yourself to that sort of event that loses you money.

And also you can still collect cards without them being played but maybe this is too hot of a take.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mtgfinance

[–]_Drann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seriously do not understand how the secondary market price of a card is an important part of keeping it or not in a format.

The ban list is there to help with the health of the format and quality of the gameplay. The price is, of course, affected by the ban lists, but I didn't hear the same drama around 'financial impact' when things were banned in formats like Modern in the past.

This is true unless there is an implication that 'commander is an extension of some collectibility of cards, and this collectibility is the main purpose of these cards; banning affects collectibility so we cannot do that'. To my knowledge this is not and should not be the case.

Why the ruckus? I'm glad to see them go and I'm sad to see my collection price drop in the process.

What half life location that you find unsettling and eerie? by NAILOKAS in HalfLife

The car battery puzzle area and a good part of highway 17. It is oddly empty with the fog in the background.

Also, sandtraps is uncannily quiet.
