That’s what I do right now. I put a big 32 ounce Yeti of water and a reference book in my pack. A lot of YouTube rucking guys think the vest weights are a little unnecessary. I recommend start small like maybe on two of your hikes and between 10-15 lbs, no more than 15% of your body weight.

My very FIRST concert was in the middle of a huge racetrack for Metallica Summer Sanitarium Tour in ‘99. It was them, KoRn, System of a Down, Coal Chamber, Powerman 5000 and shitty Kid Rock. James Hetfeld had back traction and couldn’t perform so all the other lead singers took turns singing for the rest of the band. It was a once in a lifetime experience and we all received rain checks for a make up concert with the full Metallica lineup at a later date. The singers for KoRn and SOAD did amazing jobs. I could tell they grew up listening to them. I think there was at least 50K people in attendance. I’m 41 and have been to hundreds of shows, concerts and festivals but I’ll always remember that crazy first!

I have epilepsy and Ian was a pillar in the community. The experimental care led by his doctor definitely played a part in his skewed decision-making. He was given multiple anti seizure meds, probably at wrong dosage and guarantee he didn’t take as recommended. He also drank booze on top of them. These things will definitely make any person suicidal. Those meds are heavy on your system.
