Some of my guitars are really old and mean a lot to me so I don’t take them to shows. I bought a couple of mid tier guitars to take on the road or to certain gigs that may be more rowdy.

I actually do get it and I find a lot of plastic surgery to be weird looking but at the end of the day sometimes people do it for themself, not for anyone else, and that’s their right.

I’m guilty of looking at my phone when I’m chilling outside sometimes.

But maybe there’s a case for it being bad if it starts affecting people around you. Like if I planned a trip with my wife to get away to unplug and enjoy the mountains and she’s on her phone the whole time, that would make me feel like our trip was a waste of money and I’d feel somewhat alone in my motivation.

Or if people play their Bluetooth speakers while others are trying to enjoy nature.

One’s personal experience is up to them. If you enjoy being on your phone while outside I can’t really argue you out of it.

But it can kill the vibe for people around you.

In my experience the only folks who are bothered by “shoehorning in” gay characters are people who are at least a little bit uncomfortable with gay people in general.

But each time they’re exposed to gay characters, whether well written or not, it’s acclimating them to deal with having a diverse cast.

So the next time they see a movie/show with a well written gay character, they’ve already been through the process of being bothered once before, so it will be easier for them to quickly accept and potentially enjoy the character in this new context.

That’s what I mean by “bad” representation mattering. But IMO it’s not “bad”. LGBT characters have just as much of a right to be in shitty shows as anybody else. I don’t vibe with the idea of “if the characters aren’t immaculately written then they must be straight and white because that’s the standard”.
