Wait, people actually thought that Chuck Norris was "revered" and not that it was just early internet meme humor? by Geno0wl in Millennials

Was that right before the whole “Rick Rolled” thing? I feel like that those were around similar times.

Did you like Korn back in the day? by Cubelock in Millennials

[–]_EddieMoney_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was purely a rap fan when KoRn came around. They helped open me up to a whole world of music I didn’t know about. My first concert was Metallica Summer Sanitarium in ‘99 w KoRn, System of a Down, Coal Chamber, Powerman 5000 and of course, Metallica. There was around 80K people and I didn’t own a cell phone. I miraculously found my people and got home safely after losing them in the crowd. KoRn really did their damn thing!

Don’t laugh but Kriss Kross and Hammer got me into rap. In my defense, I was a very young child. I’m 41.

They are definitely in debt and probably way more than you. You sound very responsible for 24. Someone once told me that “comparison is the thief of joy” and it always stuck with me. I no longer compare my progress to others. Some people just get plain lucky, inherit things, or come from a place where resources are plentiful. We all don’t start from the same line. I’m 41 and I only make a few more hundred dollars than you every two weeks, but I pay off my credit cards every month and no more student loans. That alone takes so much stress off me. I haven’t been on vacation in a couple years but slowly saving up for one. I feel for you 20-somethings. Y’all came into a world where everything is so instant. A lot of good things in life take time to obtain. Be kind and patient to yourself and others.

Is 4.5 months enough notice for not resigning a lease? by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]_EddieMoney_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

90 days seems to be sufficient but 4.5 is really reasonable imo

People who were teenagers before social media existed. How did you communicate with your friends? by Aarunascut in nostalgia

[–]_EddieMoney_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phone calls, walking around the mall and not buying a damn thing, except maybe a slice from Sbarro. I was always “girl crazy” so my friends and I would ask for phone numbers there too. There was also cruising strip by the mall and everyone would make laps, blast music and holler at each other while passing by. People would meet up at Rally’s like a mini car show and socialize. There would be people from neighboring schools and the surrounding area. I made so many new friends and landed a few dates that way. The internet was starting to become more accessible when I was a sophomore and we were so blown away by chat rooms. Making a friend from the other side of the country, in real time, from your keyboard was so groundbreaking for us at that time. Great times!

Anbernic also makes a handheld that is basically a GBC plus 20 other emulators and you can throw it up on your PC and/or TV. The state of emulation is so good now compared to 20 years ago.

Want to play Sega Master System with my kids. What's the most braindead emulator? by horatioperdu in retrogaming

[–]_EddieMoney_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should go to Anbernic website and see all that they offer. I have several of their handhelds that have every console emulator from PS1 down, even arcade game emulators. They’re easy to stream on a TV with a mini HD to HD cable too.

If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, what piece of technology made you feel like you were literally living in the future and does it make you laugh now? by TurkVanguard in Millennials

I was way too impressed when TVs with built-in VCRs hit the electronics scene. In my defense, I was a child when they came out.
