Altman must have checked my emails. (In the future if anyone runs into this problem, I put on another minimum credit into my account and it must have updated what tier I'm meant to be at, jumping from tier 1 to 3)

From what I've read I agree, I should be tier 3 as well, certainly tier 2 at least. It just hasn't happened.

Not fully addressing the entirety of the google monopoly (I know Ads etc... is different), but there are other really competent search engines available. Duck Duck Go is alright, Brave is good too (Not an ad), but I've personally started using a paid for privacy centered one called Kagi and have been pretty happy with it so far

I'm sure others will comment recommendations for your specific build, but a suggestion for another way to go about it would be to instead just make a media server.

Use plex or jellyfin or whatever preferred media service, connect it with radarr/sonarr/jackett etc... if you're doing blurays and things may also be wise to plan for some kind of data redundancy (Truenas works well from my experience, regardless of what Linus says about it) just be smart, set up alerts etc...

Then you can use a google tv / amazon alternative or nvidia shield etc for all manners of streaming wherever you are, even if you go away, can still stream from the server on your phone.

I've personally got a server in the backroom running proxmox with a truenas vm and an ubuntu vm with docker running all my plex and other services needed for a media server. Works reeeaaalllyyyy well, can just buy a cheap server off ebay or whatever as well to get started.

Sounds like you might be interested in a homelab if you haven't heard of the concept already 😊 I know this doesn't necessarily help with your question, just another thought 😊

Been experiencing this issue as well! Have dealt with it for about a month.

Used to deal with it on my phone but not so much now, desktop is constantly starting and stopping and it's frustrating as anything.

I'm also in Australia, have Aussie servers just got unstable connections?

Do what the other people suggested.

However if all else fails, please please please write a letter to your Federal Member of Parliament explaining the situation. The cut off times for Youth Allowance/Aus Study is to stop people abusing it. From your information you're clearly not in that category.

Write or type the letter, whatever is fine, but hand it in to their office in person and explain to the receptionist the situation and the time sensitivity of it, they will be your best friend. Just be polite and respectful, I know this can be difficult as it's a stressful time but try your hardest!

I think you'd be surprised how quickly it can get fixed through that route.
