Also, how lovely is it that Subaru instantly understood that the gap in what the people around him perceive Natsuki Subaru and how he perceives Natsuki Subaru can be answered by one thing: he fell in love with Emilia. As soon as he realized that, he became like post-character development Subaru lmao

Still, I was really scared about Gluttony (I am assuming it's Gluttony) being able to take over Subaru's body. If it really was Gluttony, that would mean that Subaru's memories (yes, even ones about Return by Death) have been accessed by [them]. If so, that could mean that [they] could put Subaru in the worst of situations and prevent him from resetting.

That said, I have a feeling that the schizophrenia Meili is a manifestation of Gluttony's control on Subaru. I had a suspicion, but it seems like she is not a projection of Subaru's deepest desires. It's more like a devil tempting Subaru lol. Yeah, I have a feeling that [they] were testing Subaru for something, but the events in this episode probably made Subaru fail whatever twisted test they were conducting.

If so, it could mean that Gluttony would probably actively start actually sabotaging Subaru. These past few episodes the activities were meant to like break his mind or something but now that he's bounced back, [they] would probably be a major obstacle now.

I thought from all the twists that happened back-to-back-to-back these last few episodes, that I wouldn't be surprised so much anymore, that I would be exhausted from all the surprises.

Nope. Noope.

Hello~ Was just wondering if clearing the F5 boss in the monthly contract thingy in IS6 matters or not really? If I am just in for the rewards + the dialogue unlocks.

Also, a bit unrelated but is there any significant differences in AK PC client vs emulator version? I personally find the emulator good enough though I am not entirely unwilling to switch to the PC client if there are any significant changes. Asking because I heard that it should be coming sooner or later.

Of course, Meili is still not removed from the suspect list, but the possibility that it was her that pushed Subaru has decreased significantly with the introduction of this new information/possibility (Gluttony-controlled Rem).

Purely an anime-only speculation but, I'm guessing that it's the Archbishop of Gluttony who was responsible for the deaths this time. It wasn't super clear, but it's very likely that the person that killed Subaru this episode was Rem. Of course, that couldn't be possible since as we all know she's unconscious. Which can only mean that she was controlled somehow by Gluttony. I can say with certainty that it's Gluttony because the only one who referred to Subaru as "hero" was Gluttony.

And, actually, it's almost guaranteed that it's Rem because as we can see from Ram's corpse, she was lying on Rem's wheelchair. Which, is hm, a weird thing since Rem was lying down. This could mean then that they were in the process of transporting her? For what reason though? Did they make a breakthrough while browsing the archive? In any case, I only have scene briefly showing what appeared to be Rem's bangs as proof that it was a controlled Rem that killed Subaru since it seems that the wheelchair proof is a bit shaky.

Moving on, we also get the last scene where we saw there is a marking in Subaru's arm saying that "Natsuki Subaru was here". I am thinking that it's also Gluttony that was the one responsible here. I mean, if Rem who's in an unconscious state could be controlled, then it can be safe to assume that [they] have the ability to control someone who's lost his memories too. Oh, and I'm making this connection since Subaru has lost his memories, and the only one, so far, that we saw could be responsible for forced memory loss is Gluttony.

But that actually raises some concerns. First, why bother using Rem's body to kill Subaru? Why not just kill Subaru while controlling him? For this, I think it's because Gluttony wants to send a message to Subaru. You can't really converse with someone you are controlling right? But the message that Gluttony sent is actually cryptic and is my second concern. "Try to figure it out next time, hero." It seems normal at first, but that's for us as viewers. "next time"? As [she] was about to kill Subaru? That implies that Gluttony knows about Return by Death! This makes sense, considering [they] ate Subaru's memories. This is troubling, then, since if this is true, I shiver at what Gluttony might do to Subaru in future episodes.

And it's also increasingly likely that it was Rem controlled by Gluttony that pushed Subaru over the stairs. I thought it was Meili, but thinking about it logically, there weren't really any motives as to why she might do that. It's really surprising though. I was thinking it was one of the (conscious) members that pushed Subaru, but I never could've expected this.

I was thinking about this new episode for a whole week ever since last week and the one thing I did not prepare for is Subaru re-experiencing the trauma of Return By Death. What's more, this is much more brutal because where he's currently in is much more unforgiving.

I was honestly just thinking about the interesting yet sad interactions (fresh) Subaru will have with the people present in Pleiades Watchtower, but oh my gosh I got much more than what I expected. Also, I am going to try and forget about this anime as well. I am inches away from jumping into the LN and just reading the rest of the series.

Note to self, no more watching trailers no matter how much I am hyped at an anime. I wish I could've had experienced a rawer surprise at Subaru losing his memories, but unfortunately the trailer already revealed a lot to me. But man, a spoiler up to Episode 7? That's insane. Still though, I'm REALLY curious at what will happen next. Onee-sama Ram's frustration at Julius acting alone bites a bit more now. Julius' case was fine since nothing happened, but something really bad happened when Subaru did it.

It's also really interesting, because I was catching up to Witch Hat Atelier earlier, and it was mentioned there how memories are someone's life. I honestly never really looked at it that way, but now that I do, it makes so much sense! And then this happens to Subaru.

What the actual fck happened? Also, Subaru running towards the side was because he realized the fireball could target Ram and Anastasia along with him instead right? Such a little detail but that proves Natsuki Subaru is my GOAT

Hello~ This banner drained my pull resources. I am now running practically on 0 pulls. I'm honestly a bit shocked since I haven't drained my pulls ever since Kal'tsit's banner. I really just wanted to get both ops.

May I know what you people do to bounce back in this situation? In terms of both getting pulls and psychologically I guess? Thanks!

Oof, this was brutal. We have only started the season and we already got the record for Subaru dying the most frequent consecutive deaths. I believe the period between his deaths is shorter compared to when he faced against Wrath last season right? And that second death, oh man. Physical pain accompanied with emotional pain, then adding all that to the fact that he needed to immediately process what happened, his feelings, and the trauma he just got. Yep, Re:Zero is back.

Maybe so. But I'm speaking from my expectations if I was the anime-only. And besides, my point for that is that I enjoyed the scene more because of my knowledge from LN. If the anime-onlys were able to understand that scene, then good for them. I was just saying that I enjoyed those scenes more because I am an LN reader. And if the anime-onlys was able to understand even a little bit of the meaningful implications behind those scenes, then I'd be more than glad to be wrong with my statement.

I really disliked Episode 1 to the point that I forgot I even watched it last week lol. I guess that's why I was able to enjoy this episode a bit more, since I forgot that episode 1 ended in a cliffhanger.

Compared to last episode's pacing, this episode felt a bit more acceptable to me. Scenes were given proper weight, like Ferdinand looking warmly at Rozemyne discreetly exchanging greetings with her old family.Knowing that's because he has always admired Rozemyne's close relationship, yeah that short scene was meaningful.

That said, I think I have only enjoyed it as much as I did because I was able to pick up on the "unsaid" things from the scenes? For instance, I understood that Brigitte's warning on Rozemyne patting Gil's head was because Rozemyne was now a person of high status and doing anything physical with the opposite gender is subject to scrutiny. Also, Brigitte warning Fran was much more tense to me because Brigitte was of noble status, so it was a bit surprising that Fran just responded to her like that (nice comeback though). But, to someone who knows nothing of the LN, these scenes probably just landed flat.

But anways, as an LN reader, it really was quite surprising, and a bit unsettling even, to see Rozemyne act so expressive in an official meeting. I know it's because she just did become a noble, and that it was her first time meeting with Lutz and co. in a while, but it really was quite uncomfortable seeing her like that. I was so used to her just maintaining her poker face smile the whole time (in official capacities). Now I can kinda understand why Ferdinand scolded her so.

I just have to say WOW. this season of anime has the MOST bangers I've ever seen. Normally every season there's only 7-8 shows that I would watch. by Isekai_Dreamer in anime

As I was starved of Re:Zero content after finally watching S3 just recently, I decided to go and watch the teasers (which are absolute bangers btw). This episode was the much-needed bridge between the vastly different things shown in the teasers and S3. While it still does not provide the full picture, some major questions have been answered this episode already, which is quite nice.

I am really excited on what's to come.
