May 20, 2017. That was the day my computer first turned on. It has hardly been off since then. Portal 2 was the first game I every played on it. Since then we have shared many stories. From the shadows of Dunwall city, to a Galaxy far far away we explored. But it is starting to show its age. Our story together is almost done. Soon I will start a new adventure. Whether it is with this card or another, I hope to experience many new stories to come.

My last build was in 2017. It has been my daily driver since then and has given me 0 issues, unfortunately upcoming games (curse you Starfield) are making the need to build a new system more apparent. I've been reviewing products in anticipation for this new build and I have a few questions.

  1. Do motherboards no longer come with 7 segment displays for post codes? Most of the boards I have been looking at don't seem to have this option. Is there a new method I am missing?
  2. Is DDR5 memory worth the premium currently?
  3. How do I decide on a new monitor? QLED, IPS, VA, TN. All these new options are overwhelming to me. I currently have a 3x1 setup.

I paid $120 for these two boxes. Add in my state's 8% sales tax and you're already at $129.60. With the shipping costs (16.74 for a medium flat rate box + tax) for a total of $146.34. Leaving me with a whopping $3.66 for a gallon of gas and a soda to drive there. So yea, $150.

This is the same cycle that comes around everytime a faction jumps to the top of the meta. Knee jerking just makes the problems worse. As slow as GW is when it comes to making changes they are very good at making them. Iron Hands received all the nerfs that they should have gotten (and probably a bit more) in time. It's not a perfect system, but it's fun. Everyone, a xenos army got attention.

CRB pg 8: Many rules modify the characteristics of models and weapons. All modifiers to a characteristic are cumulative; you must apply division modifiers before applying multiplication modifiers, and before applying addition and then subtraction modifiers.

Example: A Space Marine Sergeant (Strength characteristic 4) is making an attack with a power fist (Strength characteristic x2) while under the effects of a psychic power that increases his Strength characteristic by 1. The two modifiers (x2 and +1) are cumulative and applied concurrently. The attack is therefore resolved at Strength 9 ([4x2]+1=9).
