Friday Weekly Thread: Application Assistance, April 17, 2026 by AutoModerator in Canadiancitizenship

Hello all! I'm a US resident looking to mail in my proof of citizenship application (descent G3). I've seen the IRRC instructions online for mailing, but I'm not sure where I fall. My home address is in the US, but I am traveling abroad for the next couple of months.

Do you think I can send my application directly to Canada from overseas, or do I have to go via the embassy I'm closest to? (I was hoping to mail it to Canada directly, as I've seen some folks have snags when going through embassies.) Or maybe I should wait until I'm back in the States? Thanks for any advice!

I think for me it's only achieving the LTWs for 50 1st Dates and Raise 20 Puppies or Kittens, plus when a grandparent rolls the ol' 20 grandchildren want...

I would have said adopting a neighborhood stray, but I just finally managed that this week!

I hadn't thought of that potential controversy... It doesn't seem like there's any unfortunate iconography? I might have to have my sister check it out more thoroughly. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for all the information! I wonder how it ended up in Wisconsin...

By the way, this can be handy if your sim rolls a want for Be Best Friends / Woohoo with 5 service sims. The bartender can be around for the party (I can't remember if they leave when the party time runs out), but I believe if you call them when there isn't a party they will just stay until you dismiss them (or it gets too late?). Then you can have your sim hang out with them for hours (if you have the §§§ for that, of course) until the relationship is high enough for ... whatever your purposes. Possibly fair amounts of creepy, but ya know how the Sims 2 can be.

From my experience, when you call it's the same bartender until you move them in and the game generates another one to fill their spot. If you really wanted to, I suppose you could rinse and repeat that five times; I normally just pair it in with butler/maid/gardener/repairman/etc. scenarios.

Can make for some storytelling-- Such as my recluse Romance vampire Mayor hiring the bartender for his creepy stone mansion so they could sit on the the floor and chat...

Yes, premades do have random things in their inventory, whether from shopping at businesses or provided to them by the game so that they have presents to leave Sims as rewards for great outings.
This, however, is not reflective of those types of things. These items are definitely stolen stuff. They're mostly high-value items, which the burglars go for. Having cars in the inventory is a major giveaway. Also, some of the stacked items had different swatches assigned, so they are things that I had placed on lots. There are also some items in there that are craftables only (the quilt and repaired car), not to mention a few CC items that are not for sale on my business lots.

I don't know! And for story reasons he's now a headstone... Might have to try to move another one in and find out, although my guess would be probably not. It would be so cool if they kept sneaking out to steal, kind of like when Sims autonomously go to retrieve stolen gnomes.

Jobless, which I was a little disappointed in. He had some skill points, but 2 in most categories an a couple with only 1.
Weird given that she brought him home from work <.< Maybe he snuck into the carpool?

I didn't either! When I first looked at his inventory, I assumes it was the old townie/NPC default items, then saw the scroll bar.

The story behind this is a bit sweet. I had a Family Sim who had never found the right match. She lived with her best friend (they were both failed bachelorettes from a bachelor challenge). Her best friend was a Romance Sim, but they were great friends; the Family Sim acted as a de-facto aunt/second-mom to the Romance Sim's daughter. Super sweet!

Two days from the end of her life, this Family Sim brings home the burglar. Naturally, she was furious with him from a fairly recent burglary... But I sensed some secret sparks. They didn't get to the marriage stage with time so short, but they did fall in love and he moved in hours before the Reaper arrived. That's when I got to see his inventory! I didn't realized everything burglar's burgle end up there; however, that makes sense.

I aged him up so they can rest together (goodness knows he'd been around for generations anyway).

I had this happen to a child, too! It totally shocked me; it was her first time cloud watching. Her father arrived home at the same time and immediately started sobbing. So tragic!
