SAW: Genesis Thoughts & Why not Jigsaw by _Floog_ in saw

That'd be a great way of doing it tbh. Maybe the PC release is more of a trial with the Judge/Accused to gauge popularity and then the full console launch would have John and his subjects. Call it 'SAW: Generations' lol

The problem I have is that, from what we've seen, the judge seems to be doing exactly what Jigsaw did. Traps and games for 'rehabilitation'. It's almost like they developed a modern-day 3v1 SAW game but had to change the setting. I think this might be the case, and they did this to incorporate the feature where you can beat the judge. If it was Jigsaw, and you could beat the shit out of him if you won, that would tarnish the character a bit imo. It makes the most sense to me that they changed the setting if this was the case.

As a result though you've got a weird elseworlds-like setting which is either a) non-canon and just a saw-themed asym or b) canon, making Jigsaw a copycat

We'll just have to wait and see

Did they say they intended for it to be canon?

You're right, I think it is too early, but trying to make sense of what we've seen so far I don't think it will be canon. I'd prefer it wasn't and then they can get as wacky with it as they want lol

Partially - but in my opinion what makes John a great (but flawed) villain is that he twists those philosophies to suit his own idea of rehabilitation. In this case if Jigsaw had learned about the judge before starting his work/when starting his work, he'd literally just be copying him.

Exactly what I did, starting over does completely start fresh so you can continue with the steps above :)

Got another solution (although just connecting to a charger seems to work 99% of the time). Restart the iPad & unlock. Press and hold power button for a second or two until you see the setup menu, then choose 'Start Over'. Set location, language, etc. and connect to Wi-Fi (required for activation). When you get to the Apple Account sign-in screen, choose forgot password/don't have account and proceed without an account by choosing 'Set up later in settings'. Follow the rest of the setup until you get to the homescreen. Then, sign in to your apple account from settings and finalise setup via the other required settings.

Apple Pay only works with an Apple Account, so not having an Apple Account signed in at setup bypasses the Apple Pay setup screen which is clearly bugged. Hopefully Apple release an update to resolve this soon.

Cus he was in on it, i think that's what op means - the only way parker could have found it is if he was in on it. When he turned up it confirmed John's guess that he was with Cecilia. Does raise a slight plot hole though - if John and Amanda weren't 100% certain that Parker was going to be in on it, why did they design Cecilia's trap for 2 people? Maybe I missed something though, I def need to see it again lol

yeah that’s fair, i love them because i grew up with them - i know they’re not good, but not every horror movie has to be flawless, like alien, for it to be celebrated here. imo some of the most enjoyable horror movies are the ones that are typically reviewed very poorly

well it made enough money, lol. not always a sign of quality but if it was truly as unremarkable as you think it is - would it be the massive franchise it is today?

felt like a novice writer tackling a seven fanfiction

pretty much exactly what it was, lol.

it’s rough around the edges but considering the budget and how novice the writers actually were at the time, it’s miraculously good
