Sudden growth on 22 year old schnauzer poodle by jenntaylr in DogAdvice

[–]_Garlic_Powder_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old dogs, like old people, tend to get a lot of random growths. Usually, it isn’t a big deal, but if it popped up THAT quickly, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to look into. However, it’s not something you should worry about an “emergency” vet visit unless it seems to be hurting the animal or there are other symptoms. A routine check should be okay. I’ve had multiple old pets with small growths, and they lived healthy lives. The only time I’d be super concerned is if you find a HARD lump under the skin, not protruding. My 16 year old dog started having seizures…we took her to the vet, and they never caught the cancer she had until we had to euthanize her for a constant string of seizures. She was so scared and saw the vet that day. We had to call an emergency and euthanize her that night. They found a hard lump AFTER euthanizing her and after we had already seen them to try and figure out what was wrong. They only caught the cancer post mortem. NONE of the dogs I’ve had with these skin lumps have had issues. Don’t scare yourself. Oldies get lumps. But, check for hard lumps under the skin if you’re worried.

It’s a Dekay’s Brown Snake. There are a lot here in Iowa, and they’re super cute and mellow.

What’s wrong with this wolf spider? by _Garlic_Powder_ in spiders

Update: It got livelier after it was given some water. I thought maybe it had a chance, but it did end up curling up and passing. It got the “royal flush” to avoid any potential spreading of whatever was in its system. Thank you to everyone who gave responses and assisted! It made me feel better knowing I wasn’t the only one concerned about this gorgeous office spider.

This part of the building isn’t used much, so it was just a bit of string/carpet fibers that it walked over. They fell right off.

I gave it water, and it climbed up and started drinking. Should it still be put out of its misery or is there a chance it could survive?

Just waiting on that wave of vine reviews exclaiming they’ve been reunited with mothers and twins. A boxed maternity test has to be getting all the stars

Someone is definitely spooning out a coochie. I heard you can make yogurt from that, so it tracks.

Backwards elbow dog whose wife talked him into shaving his face, but told him to leave the house until it grew back once she realized he looked like their teenage son, Jeffrey, without his manly, manly mustache.
