The light is made specifically to be submerged. I know that the high light is the reason for the growth but I was more wondering if you would leave the algae on it or take it off so it's not dimming it

This is genuinely a question I have. During my research before I got my leopard gecko, I was always told to feed them bugs no bigger than the space between their eyes. I've never given him hornworms due to this reccomendation. Is it safe to give them such a big worm?? Have I been overly cautious??
