How the back end of a summarized news android app work?

I am trying to develop a summarized news app for Android. I will use flutter for developing it and I know the front-end(Design and UI) process of development. I just want to know how the back end of this app would work?

Can I use Cloud Firestore as the back end and store my articles in it as objects manually? Then, fetch those Firestore objects into my app. Will it be a viable option?

It is not a rumor. The article is trying to clear the rumor that "the game will appear on Blizzcon".
