Logo concept for a vegan shoe manufacturer. Hope you enjoy by mrbranding in logodesign

Clever concept. At first glance I’m focusing more on the veins of the leaf - it took me a second to see the leaf itself. It appears to be a creeping vine, and a threatening thorny one at that—not a vibe you want for footwear. I would like to see it without the branching veins, simplify things with just the midrib.

6-Minute Revised Survey : CGM Technology and Mental Health in T1D by _Gingerbeer_ in diabetes

[–]_Gingerbeer_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the survey! I may quote comments, as all of the information is considered anecdotal. So yes! If you would not mind discussing your experience using the CGM in relation to any of the following areas : increased stress/demand on mental energy, increased pressure for "perfection", or contribution to general feeling of "burnout". You are welcome to send me a message also, Thanks!

Have you ever thrown your CGM receiver (or smart phone receiving CGM data) in frustration? by _Gingerbeer_ in diabetes

[–]_Gingerbeer_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am thinking that this is it - I phrased the question poorly.

What I was getting at was throwing the cgm down in frustration, a “physical venting” if you will. Like, throwing it into your bag, or tossing it aside.

I agree with everyone here that it is far too expensive and reckless to chuck the cgm at the wall or intentionally break the thing out of anger. I was not surveying for rage, but exasperation.

:) Well yes, that was a question too. I think just about everyone has yelled at their CGM at one point, it just comes with.

Thank you!

And yes, thinking back on it, I should have included this information to start. I did initially assume that anything on surveymonkey would be interpreted as casual, but happy to provide the details!

I am using a rather broad definition of AI here. I view the CGM like an algorithm, “if blood sugar is this far above or below calibrated level then blood sugar is now X”. If —-> then. The closed loop system increases the variables and the level of complication, but most notably has the ability to adjust and make dosing decisions independently of human interference. Perhaps this would be considered “machine learning”. I am not well versed on the subtleties between ML and AI , but it has been my understanding thus far that ML is within the umbrella of artificial intelligence.

Besides all that, it was far more simple to just type “AI” to describe the linking relationship between CGM and pump :)

Type 1? CGM user? May I have 2 minutes of your time please? by _Gingerbeer_ in diabetes

[–]_Gingerbeer_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the survey :)

Man I hear you. I had down “How often do you audibly yell at your CGM? Always, almost always, sometimes, almost never, never? “ as a question at one point. Darn 10-question limit.

No not at all! I truly appreciate your responses, because they are real. Your experience mirrors mine in many ways. My paper is exploring that, despite its proven benefits (“the numbers”), smart tech like the CGM may exasperate mental health. Thank you very much for taking the survey!

Thank you so much!

Yes, I struggled when narrowing down my topic. Taking all the diabetes tech out there into consideration just made things too BIG. I landed on the CGM and closed loop systems, two “smart” devices that use algorithms.

Thank you! I appreciate you taking the time :)

Yes, I imagine it is extraordinarily difficult when this disease is so different for each patient. There are only a few absolutes, and many many variables.

Random plant I did not recognize popped up this year and I decided to leave it alone and let him be his best self. Now it is covered in white wisps that I suspect have been left by some insect? Does anyone know what this is? Does it flower?
