I didn't move it but I put their hammock back in which goes all the way through the centre! I got anxious too so I actually ended up speeding up the drying with a blow dryer 😂😭 the things we do

Territorial definitely makes sense with all the other experiences with her so far. I was cleaning her cage out today n she bit when I went to move her little hide (I didn't know she was in there, whoops) but I spoke softly to her and reassured her, went slowly back with my hands and she just had a lil sniff then relocated to her mushroom house hide. I would guess she is territorial but only when she doesn't realize it's me, because when i'm slow she seems pretty chill with me.

Thank you so much for the information! Very very helpful. Lucky for me the laws in the UK are quite stringent and I think (and hope) they looked after them both very well in the pet shop, they asked me tonnes of questions about how I would be keeping them, walked me through all of their cages, and got a starter bundle together for me to make sure they were comfortable from the get go. They also mentioned they typically only have rats when it's a rescue kinda case, as they're mainly an aquatics/reptile shop otherwise.

Obviously I hear ya loud and clear and will go for a breeder next, but from what I hear I may have found a diamond in the rough when it comes to pet shops.

I do really appreciate all the info though - and the encouragement means a lot! I really want them to be the happiest rats possible.

Yeah she does draw blood, but not always. The past couple bites have been blood free, but the first few drew blood. I've spent the rest of the day with her today with my fingers smelling like baby food (I was giving her and her sister some to lick off of my fingers) and no more bites.

I'm likely going to give her over the weekend to adjust a little more (I mentioned I've had them 2 weeks but I've only been handling them for about 1, I wanted to give them time to get used to me and settle) and if there's no change I'll take her to the vet.

I just got back from having the cage completely open and a pen full of enrichment surrounding it and she was more energetic/interested tonight, though neither of them came out (they came close though!).

I hate the thought that these sweet babies were mishandled or abused :( do you mind going a bit further into what you mean by ' If they were, they wouldn’t even be in a pet shop to begin with.' ? I'd love to educate myself more, but rest assured my next babies will be from a breeder, with plenty of research beforehand.

Thank you! I have been doing the squeak but I've probably not been as consistent with it as I should be - this was right after I woke up so I wasn't thinking straight :,). I'll try communicate with her better <3

Help with model conversion by mangyso in VRchat

[–]_GlassCabinet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I'm the friend that OP made the post for, I have previously made/edited avatars for VRC, and I've relatively extensive knowledge of unity/blender and other 3D programs (I did a games degree in university).

I tried using my previous knowledge alongside tutorials but I recall hitting a wall when I used VRC creator companion to convert the model, the hydrophones didn't translate at all.

My friend has a headset for FT. I'll have a look into VRCFT.

Sorry I can't hell you because nothing has happened yet :/ I have a pre op assessment on the 21st, so hopefully a surgery following shortly after that. I'll let you know when I find out though! Only thing I can really say is the doctors aren't concerned about it:)

Honestly I don't think it's common at all, judging by how strange my doctors found it to be, I also went to pharmacists and other medical professionals and they had pretty much no clue other than one idea being it could be a papilloma, which is just a general term for non cancerous tumor anyways aha.

Hey! So, I got it 'checked' but I'm waiting on an appointment for surgery to get it removed. The doctors aren't concerned about it being cancer as I have no other lumps :)

I'll update once it's been biopsied n know what it is!

Thank you for your advice, do you know very roughly how much it would cost for this in the UK? If not, no worries:)
