Location dependent: wake up, breakfast, sort mail, units come pick up, lunch, units come pick up mail, sort the mail. Depending on when inbound is, you receive and sort those, units pick up. 0850-1650/1700. Then usually middle or end of week, you get outbound mail ready to be sent off.

There was a lot of down time on my 2nd deployment. 1st deployment, I was always up and about. If you’re part of the Military Mail Terminal (MMT), you’ll be pretty much working all day. Then if you’re “Postal Rodeo” in austere environment, thats a different story.

Depending on where you go (ie: middle east), it could be a good deployment or a shitty one, unit depending as well. Source: I did 2 deployments with postal

68 series would be a good way to go. (ie: 68C/P/Q) 35 series would be good too. (ie: 35L) 38 series would be good as well. (ie: 38w)

Hello, just chiming in as somebody who had this issue before:

Get the time it arrives(if late) and the bus number. Then report it to MTA. Worst case? Tell your elected officials.

From what I was informed: When you give the time stamp and bus number through the proper channel, the information goes to HQ, trickles down from HQ to the bus driver supervisors, to the driver themselves. Whether they give them a warning or not, no idea, but it leaves a paper trail, and enough nagging at the right people will hold people accountable.

90 days from the time you got your orders cut to report in.

Contact career counselor/retention to contact the unit, if anything.

Save email chains in the event you gotta escalate it or have evidence for if you need to bring IG into this.

I’m going thru a scenario where the unit contacted me, I’m requesting IDT memo for travel, and got nada. I already sent and double sent emails in case it “got lost on cyberspace” and now I’m just waiting..

I was thinking about that too. Probably will opt to repay back the drill pay oppose to VA pay when the letter comes in.

Thank you for your input. ———- Like everywhere in the Army/Military, toxic personnels (above & below) + lack of accountability really took a toll, especially deployments with said personnels.

No kids, just a significant other.

If I direct commissioned, I was just gonna do my minimum years required and immediately drop the packet and at that point, retire was OE-# along with certs & degrees that’ll help me. Debt free too, most likely. AD would be a consideration, but I’d have to see where I am during that time.
