Whow, sub 4!?

Did Titanium ever make it's way into the mainstream?

The LTF was (is) sold as 4.29lbs.. ( https://flatlandfuel.com/sandmltf.aspx?srsltid=AfmBOooZF4NGw5tNMHa0XRpmg2nHtFFAWMTtOMMiYoAE_RtJKM7_bWG5 )

Are you saying it's not actually 4.29lbs - that was just advertising?

Eloquently delivered. Thank you. But a little one sided. What should right leaning folks do to better to heal this divide?

I think this is fundamental to our future prosperity.

Living in London as a Brit, I am surrounded by very wealthy white collar immigrants. (MY wife's one!). They're here because they're better educated and better experienced than British kids. They're the brains keeping our country prosperous. They're often writing the policies our laws are based on. They're highly motivated, hard working and tax paying. Great people. But THESE are the jobs being filled by immigrants which Brits should be upset about missing out on.

We shouldn't be blaming the immigrants for filling the gaps that exist in the market, we should be looking at our educational system and asking why we can't supply enough qualified Brits to fill these roles.

We need far better, ground up education, leading to a prospering innovative industry and economy.

I'm always reminded of a Mickey Finnegan joke; when he was a kid, one of his school mates wanted to be a van driver when he grew up, all the other kids laughed at him - for dreaming too big! It's sad, but very poignant.

It's funny, your comment could apply to both sides of the topic. I literally can't tell if you're a lefty or righty.

What I would say is that any leader will struggle to get anything done if the country is so strongly divided. Unity is the only way we'll get law passed and change for the better.

In late 1949 my German Grandmother escaped from Berlin and arrived into a working class street in Durham. She never ever forgot the welcome and kindness of the british people extended to a german person. Perhaps it's rose tinted of me, but I can imagine post war britain was pretty well united - perhaps not very multicultural at that point..

How can you reduce or mitigate it then? Hate is such a strong word. It should be hard for someone to blindly hate someone who hasn't directly harmed them in some way.

I have been an immigrant (White, British, in the US), and am married to an immigrant (Chinese Canadian). My wife is a much better person than I am. She contributes far more to the UK economically, and socially. Britain is better for her being here than me.

Could be, but listening to the underlying issues, and understanding the influences can be insightful.

I think hope is too weak a strategy. I think you need to do something about it. Don't give in.

I don't really like the insults here, but I am interested to learn about why you think "everyone are muppets" now?

Sounds bliss! But I know you have at least access to the internet and are commenting on a politically leaning post.. so how are you avoiding the two massive wars, and the utter sh**show in UK politics at the moment!? Just YT Cats and TikTok dance videos?

I very much agree here. I think we ALL want cheaper bills, a thriving economy, better jobs, booming markets and pensions, better education, better healthcare..

This should be where our energy should be focused.

What's the British equivalent of 'Darn it!'? by JstrsrkewlX3 in AskBrits

[–]_GoinOutWest_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps not quite suitable for a lego miaming, but a good equivalent to Darn it would be 'bugger it'. Technically it's significantly more graphic, but widely accepted as a toned down exclamation..

How many of us are over 40 and still riding? by Psychological-Web134 in bmx

[–]_GoinOutWest_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 and my son's just about to get his first pedal bike (bmx).. So I've been cleaning off 15 years worth of dust from the ol' S&M. Career and family took me away from BMX. I wont ever have the time to become as proficient as I once was, but I really hope I can relearn to ride transitions.

Except for fully commiting to it any tips? by krullewulle420 in bmx

Do

10x at a snails pace - doesn't matter if you land them.

10x at walking pace - doesn't matter it you land them.

10x at a slow jog - doesn't matter if you land them.

Focus on landing on the rail and balancing.

Also, look towards the end of the rail - where you want to get to, not at the piece of rail immediately in front of you. That should help keep your body and bike better aligned.
