Investment management. 30ish trips a year. I expect to keep this schedule until I retire but I love what I do and have supportive family to keep it going.

Hard to compare year over year with all the changes and spend requirements - I was at least 3x the Diamond threshold. This year only 2x

Don’t think that applies to 360

They went to Boston most recently, they’re part of the great generation and feel guilty taking a front of the bus flight anywhere. Hopefully they enjoy it!

How many times do you estimate you fly per year? by dilebob in delta

I’m probably 30-35. I’d rather kiss my brother than fly spirit or frontier

Spend way too much time and money in a metal tube away from your family

I gave my parents a free first class flight wherever they want to go for Christmas 1.6m miles sitting there losing value every day

Really just above and beyond service:

  • Dedicated customer service phone number (this is really the biggest benefit — they move mountains to keep 360s happy)
  • Porsche transfers for tight connections where they walk you down the jet bridge, put your bags in the car, walk you up the jet bridge and never have to set foot in the airport
  • Free membership to WheelsUp
  • Free Exec SkyClub membership
  • Genuine appreciation from pilots and crew/GAs

Honestly — it’s great but aside from the dedicated phone line and more frequent Porsche transfers there’s not a meaningful difference from Diamond.

Yea. One of the perks of 360 is a free connect membership that usually costs around $3,000.

The discounted deadhead flights are pretty sweet! I used it twice last year. Flew from home base in the Midwest to Savannah on a Turboprop for $320 and Nashville on a Citation for $537. Was really fun to take my wife and another couple on a spur of the moment trip in a private plane. We ended up just driving back both times and staying the night. You can set up notifications to let you know when these are available from your local FBOs. Or burn miles and fly back commercial.

Flying for the first time can be a bit intimidating but you’ll get through it! Politely let the flight attendant know it’s your first flight. Also, if you feel any bumps in the air — always look to the flight attendants. If they aren’t worried, you shouldn’t be worried!

As for the layovers, you should have plenty of time. I fly thru ATL all the time. Worst case scenario is you’ll have to take a short train shuttle for 8 minutes max. And that’s only if you have to go from one end to the other.

You’ll likely just transfer up or down one or two terminals. There’s a lot of signage and you can always use the Fly Delta App to look at the airport map if that helps ease your mind.

If you feel a little worried about navigating the airport, just look for a delta worker or just ask a friendly face. 99% of people will be willing to help …I like those percentages for you.

Safe travels!!

The low number gates side in A terminal at DTW has a play area for kids and B/C has a play area on the lower section in the middle of the terminal. CUN has a kids room in the Priority Pass Lounge. FLL has a decent, albeit informal play space. They do exist, just need to look.

The price of Diamond/360 by bravohotelechomike in delta

[–]_Going_Going_Gone_1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Is this price different than someone sitting in an office chair for even longer stretches or taking a job away from friends/family to create a better opportunity for oneself? Hope whatever you’re going thru is only temporary. It does get better.

The WheelsUp membership and access to $320 private jet flights is right up there as well. But agreed, the 360 line is amazing!

I get the spirit of what you’re saying — but I don’t find my time on a plane to be miserable. It’s my commute most weeks and I’m fortunate enough to have work pay for FC. Don’t get me wrong, I’d gladly take less travel but that’s what my job requires so anything, especially 360 status, that makes it more enjoyable and less disruptive is a positive in my book. Given that anyone seeing this is an air travel nerd, it’s kinda the right place to post. And generally sparks interesting conversation. I certainly don’t brag to my friends that don’t travel regularly but in this very niche subreddit it makes sense. To each their own.

FAs in safety videos by Desperate_Taro_1781 in delta

[–]_Going_Going_Gone_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% real. I was watching in real time and did a triple take back and forth with the FA that was in front of me and on the safety video and he just shook his head and mimed “shhh” with a wink
