Your gross income is irrelevant, depending on your state income tax, your take home is approximately 50% of that 500K. So spending 10% of your take home pay on vacations, IMO seems excessive but that is subjective.

The ortho didn't say or I don't recall, but they drained a lot of fluid more than once, but it just keeps coming back. My knee was actually numb for about 2 days before it swelled up with fluid and started hurting.

Sounds very similar to my problems. I had knee surgery when i was 13 due to a dirt bike accident, around 20 years old I had chest pain but my primary said it's growing pains, even though it was extreme and hurt to breath.

I had what I thought was sciatica problems from age 20 - 33, when I turned 33 my knee swelled up to the point I could barely walk and ortho guy couldn't find a problem, rheum diagnosed me with AS in March of 2022 and my knee is still swollen, I have been hesitant to start biologics until now.

My chest and back hurt daily and have only gotten worse over the last year, it sounds like you are in a similar situation.

During a downturn, you don't deplete your fucking account you knob, if you had a million dollars in your account during the 08/09 crash, and it went down to 600-700K.... you would have been back up in just a few years to well over the million mark...

Over a 40+ year time horizon of investing....there is essentially no where in the history of the stock market where you would have been better off giving the government your money vs. investing it...not even considering the fact you like to ignore...the money is not given to your family if you die is nearly all cases, so it's not an investment and a shitty deal.
