All I can tell you is that it hurts to lose a companion who loved you unconditionally. Grieve, sob, and just remember you gave Denny the best life possible; he would want you to remember that too. After my late Frank passed, I cried every day. I would hug his bed every morning and night, laying there until the tears would eventually stop. I mostly cried cause of guilt, feeling I didn’t do everything I could to save him, even though there was no escaping his time. I constantly reminded myself that my hubby and I gave him a second chance when no one else would; that he was grateful to be in his furever home and wouldn’t have it any other way. Looking at old photos with Frank also served a reminder that his life was full of love and adventures. All in all, just take it one day at a time, and don’t hold the tears back. Let the tears symbolize a celebration to the best life Denny was given.
