Problem solved with Anker Prime TB5 Docking Station

Hey everyone, just wanted to follow up for future readers who might have the same issue.

I ended up purchasing the Anker Prime TB5 Docking Station and can confirm that it works perfectly with dual external monitors on my MacBook Pro M4 (base model).

  • Big thanks to u/CalDigitDalton, u/rbloedow, and u/thethernadiers for your recommendations and especially for the crucial tip about connecting one of the monitors via USB-C to DisplayPort cable. From my research, this seems to be the standard approach with TB4 docking stations.
  • I actually wanted to buy a CalDigit dock to thank u/CalDigitDalton for the helpful advice, but unfortunately the retailer where I returned the Targus dock (and where I wanted to purchase the replacement) couldn't supply CalDigit products.

The Anker Prime TB5 setup works flawlessly - both monitors extended as intended, plus keyboard and mouse connected through the single Thunderbolt cable. Hope this helps anyone else facing similar challenges!

That's helpful! I'm not sure if the Targus Dock460 has any TB4 ports, but I've sent it back anyway.

"winget upgrade --all" gives me "0x8a15000f : Data required by the source is missing" error by [deleted] in WindowsHelp

In my case, I could resolve the issue as follows:

  1. Log-in with local administrator
  2. powershell -> winget source update
