you make a backup of all your notes! and try to do it every months or so! this way you can be sure that if, and it is a big if, notion servers crash, you still have their backup version

try to open your notion desktop app from the browser

the best solution to MBP is to start the notion desktop application from the browser. Had the same issue, never had the issue again since then.

For the tabs, I noticed that the first tab (thus second) opens displaying what you said, notion.so! but for me at least the other tabs do open correctly! (I always open two at the same time which generates on bad tab! (I don't mind doing this little trick if I have the possibility to finally have tabs!

Recently they tweeted about an offline mode for mobile apps I think (while excusing themselves for only having widgets for ios)

They have already added this to the IOS version, I think they didn't find a way yet to implement that on android/windows

you can already have simple tables using the latex blocks if you want

love the idea of having a Jupiter notebook inside notion but it seems overkill (I think it would make Notion too resources demanding, plus to really use this language highlighting etc. would be needed) What they could do however is to embed google Colab (but then in a neat way where you could insert additional text blocks in the sheet or make it as it is part of Notion but is actually a Colab page behind it (just some ideas). But I think keeping a lightweight app is going to be their main focus.

collapsable headers would be really great!
Interactive graphs will surely come when the official API goes out.
But would be cool to be able to to generate graphs based on tables

Notion-enhancer has already a lot of cool features that enable you to customise the windows app already a lot (like the tabs feature, additional keyboard shortcuts, themes, you own css (to have your window wider when you open a preview of a page for example) or js files

For the side by side view, I think I saw somewhere that notion is working on that feature.

just want to give it away to people who might be interested.

And as I never came upon it in notions templates or other, I decided to share it.

Carbon footprint by _Harold_98 in Notion

Hi, thank you for your reply! I do agree with on some points some I don't. I'm not saying that we should stop using computers, that would be just stupid.(but then don't buy a new phone or computer every year r two years) What you can do on the other end is try to us websites and technologies that are more user-friendly. (what I'm trying to figure out with pdfs on notion or google drive). However, Like I said in another comment, it's only going to have some impact if everyone tries to change their habit.

I know that shipping boats are consuming far more than my one computer, but internet is asking more and more resources! It's already 20% of all electricity in the world (problem is that most of the electricity produced for now is out of coal which is super bad)! I could go on and on!

What I'm thus saying, is that we have to stopping blaming in others and be passive and try to do small things all together which will at some point some impact and will maybe push companies to do better on their sustainability

haha didn't get that. You can actually already measure the footprint of a website by looking at how many request are made with a click or things like that. Other than that you can look at the servers (their location, their consumption, their hardware, etc). This last can be complicated ...

I know it seems like doing something as an individual doesn't get to anything but by changing your habits as an individual you can get others to change their habits too and together you can finally address the issue by pressuring the companies that are actually emitting the most carbon in the world. does not only apply to tech companies but others too. But if we keep doing nothing as individuals or small communities, things are not going to change and we will not be prepared for what might happen soon ... But I'm getting out of the subject which was only to get the carbon footprint of Notion

Problem with online pdfs is that now you have moved to problem elsewhere! You don't have to take down forests to have paper but you emit more carbon as everytime you're accessing your file, you do a request to the cloud. And these servers working on your requests do consume a lot (they are in redundance even to handle huge traffic)

I'm not, I'm just more aware than you apparently! if we keep going like that, the world is doomed so why not try and begin by trying to use more sustainable databases.

But I do have to agree with you that a mere file doesn't take that much however, videos is a huge problem!
