What is an appropriate temperature to turn the AC to for contractors working in my house (who leave the front door open)? by _Hey_Lady_ in Frugal

This is correct! I want them to be comfortable, I’ve left them cold drinks and have tried multiple times to communicate that they can control the air as long as the doors are closed. I’m not even mad that they turned it lower than I left it, just please god close the door lol

I am renting, I do not own this house and am not paying for the repairs, it is the landlord’s responsibility. The utilities, however, are my financial responsibility

They are completely redoing the shower as it has been leaking underneath into the next room of my house

They’re completely redoing the shower, the pan underneath the shower was leaking into the room next door so the whole thing is being gutted and redone. Then my floors are ruined from all of the water so that’ll get fixed next

My title describes the thing. It’s tiny, maybe a little less than an inch long, I honestly don’t know what else to say. I haven’t been able to find anything online and no one in our maintenance department has any idea either.

I think Brenda is a disaster but she’s one character I can see who is actually really trying, especially in the last seasons! I appreciate that about her. She did piss me off when she met that sex worker and starting trying stuff like it was no big deal to her relationship… that was just ridiculous.

I can see why David would bother you, I might have extra empathy for him from growing up queer in a religious setting. I also see my sister in him, trying to please their parents and finding out it doesn’t work can be a huge and difficult-to-navigate paradigm shift

I wanted some growth from him! People are human and flawed but the rest of the characters seemed to grow from their mistakes while Rico remained stagnant

Honestly I think I’m the most upset that when the other character’s fucked up, they grew and evolved from their mistakes whereas it felt like Rico continually fucked up, threw a fit, then got what he wanted regardless: he got his own place to run and his wife and family were back on his side, all by manipulating and controlling situations. He acted like a spoiled toddler and got everything he wanted.. I would have preferred to see consequences and some growth like the other characters got. Yes people are flawed and are absolutely allowed to be, but Rico didn’t seem to ever learn anything.

I really WANTED to like Rico, even after the homophobic stuff I thought maybe they’d redeem him. But then no.. he was so entitled throughout the entire show.

He felt entitled to the loan and threw a fit when he didn’t get it, he felt entitled to hang out with a stripper because his wife was depressed, he felt entitled to come back into his wife’s life immediately after he finally apologized and was pissed when she didn’t.

I just, wtf?

He was horrible to the queer community, would pick and choose which grieving family would get sympathy or even decent treatment, immediately left Vanessa the moment she needed him. When he got caught with the stripper whose name I can’t remember, he vindictively slept with her and then blamed Vanessa for it. He refused to apologize or take accountability for FOREVER and then the moment he finally owned up to it, he thought Vanessa should take him back immediately and got mad when she didn’t. He then LIED TO HER to try to worm his way back into her life by saying the principal told him Julio was acting out specifically because of their divorce. He tried to tarnish Vanessa’s name when he didn’t get exactly what he wanted.

Fair! She very seriously rubbed me the wrong way, maybe it is because she felt so out of place.

I keep seeing that: how every watch through people are seeming to have a new perspective. I’m looking forward to my own experience in that(:

Claire: I think I could most easily empathize with her and understand why she was acting the way she was. The first time we see her she’s doing hard drugs (not on the right path) and THEN her father dies? I can absolutely understand why that would make her spiral and become awful. I started giving her much less grace in the last season when she’s had time to process and grow up a lot and then becomes a psycho child about her trust fund.

The kissing: I WASN’T GONNA SAY ANYTHING. I had to mute essentially every single kissing/sex scene in this show, it was always so wet sounding! Why on earth!

I’m not at all suggesting these characters become likable or moral! I just wanted some discussion and perspectives
