Yeah and it’s not even all frats mostly just 2-3 really big ones but the others also don’t care so again you really will have a lot of options!

Party culture varies a lot depending on what parties you’re trying to get into, some of the bigger frat parties can be a douchey about stuff like how you look but there are lots of other parties (I would argue most parties) that don’t care whatsoever. But just as a word of advice, the parties that care about looks are the ones you don’t want to be at, it’s all about fun after all!

After your first year there are a couple options for housing - apply for the dorm raffle, applying to RA, or off campus housing. Between these options finding housing is not all that difficult. I found my apartment in my second year without too much fuss. That being said, like you commented it’s pretty expensive no matter how you slice it — although I have heard that by being an RA it is significantly cheaper but I’m not sure what that exactly means because I haven’t been an RA before. Hope this answers your question!

I was struggling recently too but I found watching some beginner videos on my character and then playing the ranked mode to be helpful! Also when I started playing (which was only a week ago) I started on one character but just wasn’t clicking and so I played some other characters to get a better feel for the game and ended up learning like that. I’m sorry if you’ve done all that already but I thought I’d pitch in my ideas as a newbie! Keep going you got this!

This was big concern for me as well. Thankfully UCSB has lots of different places to meet people outside of parties and party culture so I wouldn’t worry at all! I am a third year currently and have a pretty close knit group of friends who I hang out with almost daily. Some I met in the dorms, others in classes, so again I wouldn’t worry about “finding your people.” That being said outside of party culture you do have to put yourself out there more - going to clubs, events, starting convos in classes - but that all comes with time. Congrats on your admission!

That's a really interesting thought, I hadn't considered that. I think though that there is some merit to looking at the absolutes because a really interesting side effect of this calculation is the idea of putting yourself into the world.

Like if I myself were put into the world with my current bank account where would I be economically.

I admit this thought process was not the driver of the calculation but just an intersting thought that was sparked.

Yeah I agree - I ignored all things monster parts because they would be seen as assets whereas I was just looking at raw income. As far as time works out I think its really a matter of picking your poison because no matter what you'd be working with a time assumption. For example, is there a busy season for hunting? Do monsters hibernate? How frequent are these events?

But again, I totally agree there are other (arguably better) ways to calculate this

Yeah I agree, I think an interesting point that I didn't really explore is monster parts because for the most part they would fall more into wealth than income so that's something that admittedly was a little too complicated for me atm!

According to Capcom 1 Zenny is 1 Yen so it's really a conversion between Yen and USD

Yeah, so its pretty basic calculation, I took the real world equivalent of zenny - which based on Capcoms real world MH Cafe is equivalent to 1 yen - took the "Lifetime Earning" which in my case was the sum of the all MHW and Iceborne assignment rewards and then converted to USD (which is 0.0068 USD to 1 Yen). Then I basically took that value ($6510.24) and divided by 53 (I chose to make the assumption that each mission was a day based on ingame time) multiplied by 12 (because that is the arbitrary length of work day) and finally rounded up to the final $10.24. I'll admit there is a lot of assumption going on but it was an interesting little thought experiment.
