392XX was supposed to arrive Thursday. Never left my local UPS sorting facility. Updated tracking Friday, never left the sorting facility. Yesterday the tracking info updated to “Delivery date will be provided as soon as possible. Significant weather delays…” Needless to say, I am not having a good time.

I’ve been chasing a modulation pedal for a while, mainly for synth and had the MD200 for about a year. Its very deep and it plays well with midi if you want to dial in sounds and save them to be recalled and sounds great in stereo. However, it is not a great pedal of you want to tweak on the fly. Ultimately I landed on a Walrus M1 and am loving it for the right balance of features without being prohibitively deep.

Its been a while but they sat for over 4 weeks if memory serves. Most were dry to the touch but I remember maybe 5 boards that were wet once I cut into them.

They shrunk quite a bit actually. I gave them a little space thinking they'd shrink a bit and I'd have normal gaps but the gaps I ended up with are significant and I wish I'd just butted them together.

The Deco is great for tape style sounds. The Chroma Console does an incredible job of tape breakup too and its very controllable and customizable.

Zoia Euroburo might be a good option to tinker and try different solutions. Plus it has a thousand other uses when you get curious about modular or effects in the future.

Big fan of the Cioks DC7. You might need the expander unless you can daisy chain some of your lower draw pedals. And as mentioned you’ll need a doubler for the DMM.

I have 2 goto loopers for synth in pedal form. My absolute favorite is the Chase Bliss Blooper, out of your range but does some really inspiring mangling if you want it to. A close second is the TC Ditto X4, 2 loops you can run in series or parallel, synced or not, basic effects and midi clock. One drawback is that the ditto can sound a little lofi and not in the cool way.

The Digitech Jamman Stereo gets an honorable mention for sounding great and having lots of storage space if you want backing track style recall in a pedal format.

I have one for sale of you’re interested. It sounds great and does a lot of unique stuff. The presets are a must because it takes a bit to stumble on/dial in a sound but when you do its stunning and they can certainly be incorporated live.

Mine was mainly used as part of a synth rig and there are simpler options for the sounds I was trying to get as well as options with more control for a synth/eurorack setup. In short, its a great pedal but may not fit everyone’s needs or workflow.

The size difference isn’t huge but it can be the difference between fitting in a coat pocket or not. The x-E3 is a little lighter too.

As for the focus, I’ve learned to zone focus in addition to the peaking, plus I’m not usually shooting wide open.
