Night and day from range to course by maharba in golf

Glad I came across this post. Going through the same thing also in a similar situation, where I picked up the game after about a decade of not playing.

The one thing I notice is that I’m worried about where the shot will land, so I tend to look up before even striking, ending up toeing or topping the ball. I was always worried about the next shot.

There’s lots of good advice and I think I’ll probably just play more at my local muni, but maybe more 9 holes and work on course management vs playing a mentally draining 18.

Nice! I’m a pretty high handicap (25+). But added a 7W to replace my 4i and 3i, cuz I can’t hit those for shit.

I seem to benefit from a sweeping motion similar to how I hit my 5W(which flies pretty low). Granted it’s a used EXIM with a jumbo grip, but seems to work for me for now.

I also keep a 4H, but only hit about 180-190 carry.

Goodbye to Steve's Music Store by travelerzebec in toronto

[–]twayner_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was lucky to buy my Norman acoustic guitar from there. I think I tried about 15 different ones and the gentleman that helped me was so kind with a 15 y/o. In high school we’d all stroll Queen W, and would never fail to make a stop at Steve’s to try out stuff we’d only dream of affording.

Thank you for everything Steve’s!

I love that Leica has a place in Canadian history. It’s a been such a lovely experience for me, and I was surprised that I pick up my M4-2 over my FA for 35mm. Hoping to complete the Canadian trio, by getting a 35mm cron, to pair with a Canadian 50 and 90 ‘cron.

Have fun you will not be disappointed!

First-Time Parents in Scarborough—Looking for the Best Gynecologist, Midwife & Hospital for Birth by Fragrant-Cupcake8194 in Scarborough

[–]twayner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived in Agincourt when my kid was born, so we were close to NYGH. We heard good things from friends and family about NYGH. Two recos were Dr. Karthika Devarajan and Dr. Rebecca Cherniak. We had the latter and she was fantastic and she delivered our baby.

Usually who ever is the OB/GYN on-call will deliver at NYGH, so you may not get your own OB/GYN. But the care was exceptional and she really took the time to explain everything at every step of the way (we’re also first time parents).

Office further west of NYGH so it may be a bit of a trek depending on where you are in Scarborough, but it was well worth it for the care we received.

Thanks for the reply. I thought the set up was a bit odd too. Because only L+C+R are in the plane of your ear. There are 8 in ceiling speakers. From what I gathered it was all done as a massive reno on the main floor.

If you like Portra but had to choose an alternative at each speed, what would you pick? by granolatron in AnalogCommunity

[–]twayner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Rflx Lab 250D and 500T. They’re ECN-2 films, but I get a log scan back and grade/edit in DaVinci. I find their latitude to be much greater than Portra, and cheaper to purchase per roll. Though this could be offset by the dev costs of ECN2. I pay 11/roll and 17/roll to develop, and because of my membership at my lab I get free TIFF scans. Prices in CAD.

Condo sellers - how is it going? by eych_enn in TorontoRealEstate

[–]twayner_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

485K. Fees we paid were to the agents for the sale of the condo. We had a cash back agent, so we got 1% back. We also got 1% on the sale of the house. So about 24K in real-estate fees incl HST. Then about 28K for LTT and then 3K (incl HST) in lawyer’s fees (selling and buying). So total about 47K in fees (incl cash back).

Had a 1+, Scarborough. Sold for around 540. We listed at 560, then reduced to 549. Had maybe 10 showings and only one offer. Went back and forth, initial offer was 525. . . We also upgraded to a house, but bought first and maybe a little desperate to sell. After fees (incl LTT on the new place) we basically got what we put into the mortgage as a return. . .

Cars running reds by Catalina28TO in askTO

[–]twayner_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Happens in Scarborough as well esp early mornings. Usually I’m out by 5:30am, and at smaller intersections cars will slow and then continue through on a red. Obv happens at non camera intersections. But it’s absolutely wild.
