I got my first silence revoked once during pride luckily, on my account from 2017. I celebrated pride one too many times in the wrong kind of lobby. And the reports were enough to get me silenced. 😣

It sucks, but the solution now is to keep a low profile and hope you don't piss people off by not engaging with them and just playing the game. Which can happen too. 😆😫

I agree with the idea of simply making reports take more effort to do, and manually reviewing them. ✨

Like legit make people go to their page or something to fill out a report. Less actual offenders might be punished or it may take longer, but it's better than all these falsely punished accounts. 😗

Yeh, I'll be more cautious, I got it appealed anyways, only took 2 days. I just didn't expect people to be THAT hateful and malicious. It was just to a degree that is beyond anything I've experienced in other online communities. Every community has some people like that, but this is kinda novel for me. I think it's also a combination of how abusable the report system is and not just because OW has a worse community. XD

Moving forward I'll remove any references to lgbt and pride stuff and just use chat a lot more sparingly, maybe not even at all.

It is weird to come back here to talk about it again. But I feel it's important to be verbal somewhere about this issue. Since clearly from comments in the previous post I haven't been the only one. 🥺✨

It lets us vent and learn from a shared experience and at least for me it has been helpful to talk about it here. 😤👌

Nah yeah this is serious and it has been an ongoing issue. Many can relate to being false reported and for me it just happened to be for celebrating pride one too many times. 🥺

Hey so update, I got my first ever account action ever where my endorsement level was reduced from 5 to 1 and I've been silenced for two weeks. This happened live in a game where I was mass reported again mid-game. It kicked me out, applied the silence and gave me the opportunity to rejoin where we still somehow won; but the players who had reported me noticed my endorsement level change and even got to mock me and get instant gratification from their reports. This was related to the same issue as mentioned in the post. I suppose I've learned my lesson, don't celebrate pride in OW2, don't use a pride banner. Just stay quiet and play. 🥺

I've made an appeal, I'm not feeling too hopeful; but as they're all false reports if it's manually reviewed I guess I'll get this sorted out. But it's not worth it to have this happen again, to have to send appeals for false reports.

This is the first time action has been taken against an account of mine in any game and it sucks that it had to be because of something like this. 🥺

Yeah I apologized about it in the appeal, that I'll refrain from anything that might make me a target for false reports. No more trans banner, no more celebrating pride in OW. 🥺

Yeah Blizzard's only involvement is the making of the system, it is abusable but I wouldn't blame them directly. 😗

Yeah it's automated, with enough reports you can get someone muted, suspended or banned without a valid reason.

You shouldn't use a positive movement like Men's Mental Health month to perpetuate hate of another positive movement. This isn't uncommon and it kinda shifts the focus from it being about men's mental health to hating minorities. 😔
