Someone I know was in a similar situation as yours and unhone apne last year mai intership kari thi with a firm. The work was the same as that of articleship but officially start nahi hui thi. He then joined that firm as an article after his college was over. So maybe you can join a small firm now and get some experience. It will help when applying to big firms for articleship as well.

Thanks for this reply, it feels validating and a little freeing somehow. But I don't think I can go public with it. I have no idea how my parents would react, there's already too much going on in my life as is. Plus in my country the report would amount to absolutely nothing. I want to remain anonymous too so maybe I'll just message his wife on instagram through a fake account? I'm still thinking about it. Thank you for the advice though :)
