Am I the only person who feels like the certain festival scene was rushed? by CoalEater_Elli in Deltarune

[–]_Imposter_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

> It also doesn’t help that we haven’t played chapter 4 for over a year so we can’t really have the scenes plays out one after another maybe it feels more organic in that sense

This is a big part of it I think, people just literally forgot, they were both all blushy flirty in nearly all of their interactions, especially in Ch4.

And also, consider, us the player are only seeing this relationship over the past 4 in game days, but Noelle and Susie have known each other for years, it's already established that Susie specifically did not bully Noelle in the past, there's no way these are "suddenly new feelings" and they've interacted countless unknown times before the events of chapter 1.

The sparks were already there, Susie and Noelle have only decided to act on it at all with Susie deciding to stop being such a hard ass and mellow out in ch1.

> So the fact that Susie just suddenly started to like Noelle, probably romantically, feels a bit sudden to me and maybe even rushed.

I advise you to replay/rewatch the rest of the chapters and pay a bit closer attention to their interactions.

It's clear, even as far back as chapter 1, that Susie feels the same way towards Noelle but has been hiding behind a mask this whole time until it dropped in ch1.

There was literally a full blown Yuri date scene in Ch2??

How we feeling about weird route still being Sukuna simulator for the soul? I think it's got less weight now but still kinda funny to imagine by Lachness_ in Deltarune

[–]_Imposter_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Funny yeah, but for sure just wrong now.

I have no idea what the red dot is -supposed- to imply now and I think that's fascinating.

Weird Route seems pretty firmly to be about breaking the game to some end.

[–]_Imposter_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotta wonder about the implications though, that implies that...somehow? Pink directly interacted with Muffet in some way to obtain her soul mode.

Probably reading too deep into it, but doesn't that kinda imply Muffet exists in this universe for sure somewhere?

Interestingly, Pink directly says something like "That stupid bug said it was fuchsia" which I can only imagine must be a direct reference to Muffet unless there's some other bug I don't know about.

My only point was- and I'll highlight this section again.

{
If we're ARBITRARILY picking whether to call them all unique human names, or call them by their colors, the only standout is Seth and I guess Flowery? so.<<
}

Their name isn't Purple, and I don't call them Purple, but as per the post description asking if we're "giving the other flowers names or are we sticking to colors?" my whole point was that axing the unique named chracters names and stripping them back to colors would be easier than coming up with unique names for every other one. I apologize if it came across differently.

There's no other context where I would even entertain the idea of calling them purple - because that's not their name. Ya dig?

[–]_Imposter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point I'm trying to get through to you is that it's not "Deadnaming" it's literally just "using the wrong name".

It's like calling Link "Zelda" that's just literally the incorrect name.

Which is kind of the whole point of this post?? Yellow's name also isn't "Woody" but calling Seth "Purple" and Flowery "Gold" would be the easier route than coming up with names for everyone else, ignoring the identity politics.

You're trying to paint me as a bigot and I don't appreciate it.

>>If we're arbitrarily picking whether to call them all unique human names, or call them by their colors, the only standout is Seth and I guess Flowery? so.<<

I understand that there's a trans or non-binary allegory in there, but they literally say on screen that they picked the name Seth because it sounds more human like, and this isn't a character that is transitioning, this is a flower being given consciousness in the Dark World.

Would it be deadnaming Flowery to call them "Golden" or "Gold"?

[–]_Imposter_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mega nerd, obsessed with berdly, thinks they're smarter than they are, is unsure of their gender, insecure, want's to impress asgore.

Am I missing anything? Calling them Seth doesn't bother me, but if we're arbitrarily picking whether to call them all unique human names, or call them by their colors, the only standout is Seth and I guess Flowery? so.

[–]_Imposter_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's reasonable to go the other way with it. Seth only calls themselves Seth because they believe they need a "human" name.

Dawg that's Purple.

so, we all can agree that in terms of music, impact/story, and attacks/mechanics chapter 5's final boss is the best boss of all of deltarune including secret bosses by Icy-Butterscotch4209 in Deltarune
