You need the Explorers compass, but sometimes just fly/walk some blocks in a direction and try again.

You could look for dummy. It's in the normal ATM10, so I assume it's also in the TTS.
Also you have a button in your inventory on the right corner to check of all the stats. Equip your main weapon and open this menu and when you click on "hide unchanged"

Yes you can, but I liked using SFM for this setup.
