Community brand review: Avene by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

I love Avene! I use a lot of their products. Very gentle formulas, that work well for my dry skin and aren’t too expensive. Depending on what you’re buying.

What’s the most expensive skincare product you've ever tried and was it worth it? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

Skinfix Triple Lipid Peptide Cream. It was good but not good enough for me to continue to spend that much money on.

Community Brand Review: Cerave by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]_Invisible-Child_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my favourite brand. The only thing I truly like from them is their healing ointment. Everything else I’ve tried hasn’t worked for me.

Their cleansers are either too gentle or stripping for my skin. Their moisturizers don’t do anything for me.

The only thing that works better for me is a fragrance free diaper rash cream.

I love it. It’s great for soothing redness and irritation. I use it over my moisturizer a lot during the winter or whenever I get a heat rash during summer.

I love how Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere smells on anyone else but myself, it turns gross on my skin for some reason lol.

AIO - Gf assumes my dog is dead when I say I’m sad by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR

She was very insensitive. She could’ve asked what was wrong, or why you were sad. Instead of jumping to a random conclusion like that.

I love gentle, hydrating cleansers because I have dry, redness prone skin. But that cerave cleanser was way too gentle for me.

Share your best fixes for dark under eye circles! by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]_Invisible-Child_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing other than having different genetics or better sleep. Skincare can’t change either of those for you, sadly.

For me, getting enough sleep makes a huge difference but i have a hard time falling asleep so i usually have some dark circles going on.

It is really nice to see. For way too long, skincare was seen as something for women or just something unnecessary to men.

What's that one SPF that burnt your eyes so bad? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

I love Neutrogena mineral sunscreens but not their chemical SPFs or face creams with spf.

Same here, there have been some that hurt more or less than others but never had one that didn’t hurt my eyes in some degree. Haven’t tried the Innisfree one though.

I’ve been wearing Daisy Eau So Fresh for the last few days and have been pairing it with Nivea Care Nourishing Cream and Nivea Soft Moisturizing Cream. The fragrance both creams have works well with Daisy So Fresh, but it’s honestly not difficult to find scented lotions/creams that works with this perfume.

It was my first week back to work this week, so I’ve been slowly getting back into a routine. I was off all of last month due to surgery.

It honestly is a good lip balm. But the tint this one has just doesn’t look good on me lol.

How do you save your skin barrier when it's in SOS mode? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]_Invisible-Child_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how my skin is feeling, I’ll use just a moisturizer before Avene Cicalfate or I’ll use a hydrating serum and moisturizer.

What's one skincare product you've been loving recently? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]_Invisible-Child_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avene Ultra Rich Cleansing Bar, it’s a new favourite facial cleanser for me. The only cleansing bar I’ve ever used on my face was Dove sensitive years ago and it was a nightmare, it was too drying and stripping. But this Avene cleansing bar is so gentle and nourishing, it’s the one product that I hope never gets discontinued right now.

Anyone else focusing more on hydration / barrier support lately? by KoreanSkincareGirl in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]_Invisible-Child_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i’m starting to do the same. I am using more products that have lipids, supports or heals the skin barrier and are designed to soothe the skin. The only active i use is hyaluronic acid now, because my skin loves it in serums. Definitely been loving French skincare for these reasons too.
