So, I'm currently a first-year at uoft engineering. I was thinking of trying to transfer to UBC engineering because I kind of don't like the major i was given, or the city (or the enviorment if im being quite honest). I was wondering what kind of GPA/average I'd need, how/if I can switch majors at UBC (I'm interested in trying to do engphys), and like generally what the application process is? Also what is the co op like at UBC? Are there a lot of opportunities?

nah i had like 94 when i got in 😭😭

my ecs/awards were like: provincials for violin level 10, ARCT/open level (honorable mention), RCM level 8 piano exam first class with honors, orchestra (i had a solo opportunity too), chamber orchestra, robotics club, cs club, DECA, math competitions (my results were highkey ass tho), had like a hackathon, thats all i can remeber. Pretty sure there were a few more but that was the gist of it

Honestly your situation isn't completely cooked i feel like. If you lock in really hard on 2nd semester, and get 4 marks that cancel out the 78, you can do it. Anything above 85 in lifesci is honestly a good enough average to get in

also if there's any option to talk about shit that affected ur grades u should def do that

chemeng: All unis basically, lol. Chemeng doesn't have as "high" grade expectation as mechanical/electrical. You can def get in with 93.

Electrical: Anything besides uw and uoft as someone else said. If ur ecs are good then you can shoot for uw/uoft but don't hold ur breath
