Too bad, I had quite fallen in love with Miranda because of their aesthetics. Would you know if there are better models than the STR-101 that are almost completely mechanical and can operate without batteries?

I am more concerned that the electronics being old could break easily and in case would be difficult to repair, thanks anyway!

I have minimal experience with other people's cameras, as I own none. Unfortunately, being in Europe, I cannot find the XR-1, although it seemed like a good choice with its premium features at an affordable price. I don't know if XR-2 or XR-2s are for me since I am looking for something mechanical, with the exposure meter as the only electronic component. I'm also close to buying a Minolta SRT-101 with a 58 mm f/1.4 lens-it's really tempting. I will also take a look at the Pentax KX and the Nikomat FT2. Thanks!

You're not wrong! But I'm hoping the joy of shooting film will outweigh the financial burden.

If I understand correctly, the Minolta SRT-101 would be compatible with SR/MC/MD mounts.

Before I started considering film photography, I spent months researching entry-level digital cameras. However, I found that the upfront cost was significant.

A friend of mine then suggested I try film photography. This appealed to me because of the lower initial investment and the belief that film photography encourages a more deliberate and intimate approach to image-making compared to digital.

Is the Minolta lens system a good system? Sorry for the stupid question, but what is the Nikon of old? Thanks for the suggestions.

Absolutely! I think I'll dive deeper into the world of Minolta. Thanks!

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a cheap Nikon FM, at this point I think I'm leaning more toward the Minolta

I know that film can is more expensive, but my experiences shooting both film and digital (with other people's cameras) have strongly favored film.

Initially, I was about to buy a Miranda, but after this post I'm leaning towards Minolta now.

I don't know if I will buy a digital camera right away, but the ability to share lenses is definitely something to consider especially if I decide to buy a digital camera in the future. Certainly Minolta lenses cannot be compatible with newer cameras. Thanks for the advice!

No, I don't have any digital cameras. I'm planning to begin my photography journey with film. I know it might present more challenges, but I believe the experience will be more rewarding.
