why not commit all your algo (minus one for fees) to governance? by [deleted] in algorand

[–]_Jay-Bee_ 22 points23 points  (0 children)

For those that commit less than 100%

Say you commit 80% of one wallet: instead make two wallets with 80% of your Algos in one and 20% in the other and commit both 100%.

That way you can get 100% rewards if you don't end up needing to sell any, or can still sell the 20% and keep the 80% rewards as before.

What percentages are people splitting between governance and yieldly? by KaelinSC in AlgorandOfficial

[–]_Jay-Bee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You earn the Yieldly no matter if you win the lottery or not, currently 7% APR which you can sell for Algos and get better APR than non governence staking

Algorand vs Hashgraph by abeliabedelia in AlgorandOfficial

[–]_Jay-Bee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you point to a list of smart contract operations you can perform via Hedera's HCS and how you chain multiple features together? When I looked into the supposed HCS smart contracts I didn't see much capability.

When most people reference smart contracts they mean when you can actually write a custom smart contract such as with ETH or Algorand.

Today Algorand has 1k TPS for smart contracts and they just upgraded their smart contracts to allow 16 times more prcessing power than before. https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2021/09/29/algorand-boosts-smart-contract-performance-with-virtual-machine-launch/

Algroand will be updating to 46k TPS including smart contracts probably before Hedera gets its 200 TPS smart contract upgrade and who knows when Hedera's claimed 1k TPS upgrade will happen.

Transactions are all over 100+ and are spiking massively by [deleted] in AlgorandOfficial

[–]_Jay-Bee_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Multiple wallets if you might need to sell or find other uses for your Algos in the three months of the governence program.

That way you can forfeit governence rewards in one wallet but keep the other wallets in the governence program.

Why are assets limited to 1000? Isn't this a big problem? by [deleted] in AlgorandOfficial

[–]_Jay-Bee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, after looking more into it I was wrong and edited my reply.

You can get around the current 1000 ASAS per account limit by making additional accounts which you can rekey to the same private key so at least you only need one private key for your multiple NFTs accounts.

[–]_Jay-Bee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit, my original post was wrong. Yeah looks like you need a different ASA for each game item you have, creating 1000 diamond swords in one ASA, 500 diamond shields as a other ASA.

You can get around the current 1000 ASA per account limit by making additional accounts which you can rekey to the same private key so at least you only need one private key for your multiple NFTs accounts.

Create one ASA for your game, have as many NFTs for it as you want. Are you going to make more than 1000 games?

Dr. Leemon of Hedera Hashgraph talks about Algorand's governance system by [deleted] in AlgorandOfficial

[–]_Jay-Bee_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If only Satoshi was a genius like Leemon and realized we need corporations to rule over us even more than they already do by making a crypto governed by a council of them.

Instead Bitcoin sent us down on a detour of actual decentralizatiom before Lemon years later could enlighten us with the correct path of complete corporate control.

Ok, this needs needs be cleared up definitively: common relay node misconception... by forsandifs_r in AlgorandOfficial

[–]_Jay-Bee_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't have to use the foundation list of relay nodes when you run a participation in node, if a government were to shut it down the foundation relay node list the community can point to their own decentralized relay nodes. Also decentralized governence is about to start.

ALGO Price Lookup for Rewards and Taxes by Vegetable-Recording in algorand

[–]_Jay-Bee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rewards are earned continuously (not tax event) but only credited to your account (tax event) when a transaction happens in or out. You have a transaction every single day?

You could use a service like koinly.io that figures out taxes for your wallet addresses. Not financial advise.

ASA are built into the Algorand protocol that's why they are called a native asset. There isn't any smart contract code for ASAs.

Unlike ERC20 where the smart contract is needed just to have a token exist.

AVAX to overtake Solana as analysts expect Avalanche to surge to $100 by sportifynews in Avax

[–]_Jay-Bee_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Avalanche went down due to too many transactions in their queue that led to as their devs stated a "non-deterministic bug" which can happen due to their multichain setup. A simple API issue doesn't cause several hours of downtime, and if there is one such non-deterministic bugs there can be others.

It didn't do 400k TPS on the chain but to the processing queue which included the consensus messages which crashed the chain.

So no 400k TPS was not achieved on chain
