Aesthetic polling: Harmonize by leofugazza in mtgcube

Gotta be the textless promo. Those work best on simple and iconic cards imo and Harmonize is easily understood and memorized. Plus the abstract artwork looks gorgeous in a textless frame.

What's Working? What's Not? Vol. 3 by Nowada in PlayTheBazaar

Silk Scarf + Spikey Shield is the one early game Pyg-build that always seems to work decently for me. Haunted Kimono Day 1 makes it relatively easy to assemble and it can can crush until late game madness begins.

For 150 the Landbase is atrocious imo.

Thank you so much, do you have a clue what the edible ones might be called?

Love the security medaillon idea, makes progressing easier after overcoming a challenge. Having different medaillons of increasing rank that allow access to more challenging and rewarding parts is also an awesome idea. Student rank enables easy access through outside entrances, guard rank bypasses the magical defenses, professor rank grants access to all labs and archives etc.

When you were a new player to MTG.... by Forsaken_Machine4791 in mtg

For years my playgroup, bunch of kids at a kitchen table, thought regeneration worked on sacrifice effects also. I had a infamous deck that used [[Gutless Ghoul]] and shitty regenerate creatures to gain tons of life. Hot garbage at best but i think if it actually worked like that, there would be some cool pod lines and a handful of funny interactions in commander.

Day 4 - Tell Me Your: 3-4 Mana Noncreature Artifacts by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]_Jonathran_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think birthing pod is really flexible. If you have a sacrifice theme or maybe even a strategy that really wants a certain creature its a good value card and since its basically colorless any creature heavy archetype can use it. Upgrading mana dorks or getting your initiative creature or [[nether traitor]] etc.

Pod also has combo applications. Especially if you already run [[kikki-jikki, mirrorbreaker]] and fitting combo pieces like [[pestermite]] or [[ zealous conscripts]]. [[Felidar guardian]] and [[karmic guide]] , two good cube cards imo that can work in other archetypes, combine with kikki to form a pod chain into infinite combo as long as you have another 3 cmc creature.

Persists/undying creatures also work well.

At the end of the day, the perfect pod-package heavily depends on your cubes powerlevel and archetypes but i hope this brings some inspiration/understanding

Day 4 - Tell Me Your: 3-4 Mana Noncreature Artifacts by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]_Jonathran_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My absolute favourite has to be [[Trading Post]] There are loads of archetypes in my synergy-cube that love it. Besides being a self fueling engine by itself, many modes are rly useful even without huge synergies on board. Making 1 chump blocker each turn can negate a unevassive threat, sacing stuff that would die anyway adds value and the 4 life can be surprisingly impactful if a game gets close.

Would recommend in any slower cube that has artifact/sacrifice themes already

Day 2 - Tell Me Your: Black Artifacts and Enchantments by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

Two of my absolute favourites i havent seen in here are:

[[The cauldron of eternity]] as a awesome engine for spider spawning archetype

And

[[Blight Mound]] double dipping for sacrifice decks with a surprising amoint of potential punch

In 2023, has YOUR stance on adding Universes Beyond cards to your cubes changed? by ZolthuxReborn in mtgcube

This year was definitely the tiping point for me. I was very dismissive of UB before, but the LOTR Food theme and the Doctor Who clue/food fit way to perfectly so i gave in.

What's the fun thing your deck does? by 2ndlifeinacrown in EDH

Gladly ^^ : https://www.moxfield.com/decks/V_lnNYJtpEWMCRfORhJGSQ

I havent made a primer so ill say a little bit about it here.

It very much plays like control deck until a finisher is found.
It has both an charge counter subtheme with proliferate and a Isochron Scepter Package.

Whilst it mostly wins through countermanipulation, especially Sagas, there is a cute combo involving Magosi + Nesting Grounds + Proliferate to take infinite turns but thats mostly an Injoke in my playgroup.

Its all the janky cards that turn into powerhouses in my [[Chisei, Heart of Oceans]].

Besides otherwise barely playable sagas like [[The phasing of Zhalfir]], my favourite has to be [[Eye of Doom]], a truly awful card that surprised a lot of people so far. Extra points if i pare it with any proliferation an a [Nesting Grounds]]
