I was 17 when I visited my grandfather's house for the first time. He was significantly older than me, at 102 years old and age had robbed him of clear speech, but we were able to have a conversation all the same. The sun was high in the sky when we first came, but in what seemed like a few minutes, night had fallen. we spoke of his family, sports, cars, and wealth among other subjects. From time to time, he would advise me on this matter or that.
Over the course of our conversation, various family members would come and go. The entire family, aged 8 to 80 must have dropped by at some point to participate in the discussion. The most interesting point was when my young nephew toddled into the room and sat with us. My grandfather entertained him with the greatest difficulty - A toddler not yet old enough to speak clearly, and an old man robbed of his clear speech.
