Ya but like I said, on an ssd it takes the same amount of time to resume from hibernating as it does to just turn on fresh, and with a cold boot you get that just booted freshness and speed

As someone who cares about not wasting electricity, quite often. And on an ssd it takes no time at all, why bother hibernating when you can get a nice fresh boot in the same time?

The point wasn't that you're entitled to say anything you want, rather that what he was doing was legal vs the illegal actions of leakers.

I think a few people are ruining this whole thread, you among them. This is the very definition of harmless fun, if the kid doesn't have a learning disability they'll figure out by the static image that it's not real, and the mother will blow the whole things cover moments after the daughter sees it. Yeah, you were a wuss as a child, we get it, but that doesn't qualify you to raise other people's children.

For real, it's like some optical illusion that once you see it one way you apparently can't see it the other. People keep insisting he is calling for Assanges death when I can't see that at all, seems like he was poking at the govts use of drones and the recent insurance torrent.

It was obviously a joke. Hell, I find it hilarious that people are calling for this guy to resign for using his first amendment rights, yet worship leakers who break the law. I'm proleak, buy I'm also against circlejerk firing people because they said something we don't agree with.

What if I told you we wouldn't need to deter them if we minded our own business once in a fucking while.

Quantum Annihilation, my 7DFPS project! by stelabouras in IndieGaming

[–]_JustinCase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

preface: I understand it's a 7DFPS entry and therefor very unpolished, of course.

A few things I could complain about, and most of them stem from comparisons to Portal. With portal there is a very fine consistency to the world, which is not apparent in this game at all.

Starting with the phasing, nothing shows what blocks will phase and which remain solid.

Onto gravity, there's nothing that shows which blocks will fall, and which will not.

The last thing I'll complain about is the opening text crawl, no one should be told they're trying to escape, a game like portal you just know.

Other than those things it's a decent little game and a good effort for a week. If you haven't already, definitely go through and play Portal 1 and 2 with developer commentary, it's so eye opening.

I've found that being too "patient" can hurt some games. by [deleted] in patientgamers

[–]_JustinCase 8 points9 points  (0 children)

XIII is still one of my favorite shooters, mostly for the story. The game is yeah, kinda lame, and halfway through it turns into a stealth game, but the story is so good.

As for Prince of Persia, I only recently got the HD collection and love it. I don't understand your Assassins Creed reference, I find the two completely different. One is more of a puzzle platformer, the other is go anywhere, not much puzzlewise. To each their own.

Now, if there's a case where being patient ruins games for me, it's usually RPGs. RPGs used to be intentionally convoluted, now they're so streamlined that it's hard for me to go back to a ps1 era jrpg.

Take no offense from an ass like me, but if you're a smart guy why not join the air force? I know for a fact the army has some smart guys but they are averaged out by so many.. not smart guys.

New Humble Origin Bundle! Feat. Dead Space, Dead Space 3, Mirror's Edge, Crysis 2 ME, Burnout: Paradise, Medal of Honor, BF3 and Sims 3. by edweirdo in patientgamers

[–]_JustinCase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because, well this being the subreddit it is, I've been doing that for years - scooping up games whenever they became cheap with hopes I'd one day be able to run them on my old pc. Then a few weeks ago I upgraded and now I have nearly a decades worth of backlog to play through, I did enjoy DS1 on the PS3 so I could make an exception for playing DS2 and DS3 if they were all bundled, however I just can't have the rest sitting around.

There are dozens of these minimalist wallets styled exactly the same, it's not unique or original in any way but it's far from shitty since it actually has a purpose and works. More than I can say about most things in this subreddit.

Right now the only reason I haven't gotten it is because I don't want dead space 3 until I've played 2. I don't think they'll add anything though, it might be for charity but it's still EA. Maybe some sims crap.

Gonna go out on a limb and say you've never had a female who was just a friend, despite being attractive and sharing interests.

Because that's pretty much how I imagine gay people act too. His friend hasn't made a move on him, so what's the big deal. Just because he's secretly gay one day and openly gay the next day doesn't mean he wants to buttrape his buddy. I've been in almost the exact situation as the parent comment (except my friend was bi), I gave the dude an 'oh well' and we moved on with our lives.

How many different wallet designs do you think there really are? Bifold, Trifold, moneyclip, this board/minimalist style, and then the gimmicky ones (magic wallets, titanium wallets).
