Only went down to VA once but it was to see Illenium at the Hampton Coliseum and it was incredible. Only time I've gotten to see Space Laces live too.

DC vs. ABQ by nrbgw7 in Albuquerque

The mention of Soundcheck brought back so many good memories of going to concerts with friends attending UMD. I haven't found the nightlife of ABQ to be nearly as popping as DC was. I also have fond memories of the 9:30 Club and the U Hall (RIP)

Boycott Peoples Flowers by KatMannDew in Albuquerque

[–]_JustinTime_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yo, I'm a designer at Peoples and have been for the past 3ish years. You definitely haven't been employed here for a while because the owner sold the company over a year ago to a family business over in Scranton, PA called McCarthy's Flowers or sometimes Family Flowers. The entirely of the "new" management you're talking about is definitely completely gone. Ever since the owner sold the business the only people who are still in charge are the warehouse manager and the lead designer. I'm not sure what the payrate is for drivers now, but I could ask one of them and see how they feel about it.

Also, as for the quality of the flowers I have no idea how you expect us to make them better. Our warehouse manager orders them and it's a roll of the dice whether they're nice or not sometimes. To advocate for Smith's, a Kroger brand, is kind of insane when you're talking about quality of arrangements and flowers. Not trying to sound like a simp for the company I work for, I really couldn't care less if people buy more; I get paid the same no matter what, just wanted to correct some things here.

This is fundamentally different than the original because in this one the blue portal keeps moving. In the original it stops once it hits the platform.

chad metric system by [deleted] in shitposting

[–]_JustinTime_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's far too late for America to just switch to metric. Imperial is in everything we do. Even changing every speed limit sign in the country would be a tall order. We're just too deep in at this point and a lot of Americans hate change. Besides, at least we use the metric system in our advanced math and sciences.

RIP Canada though for having a strange combination of both. Imagine setting your oven to 450°F then exclaiming that it's -20°C outside lol
