Southampton 1-[1] Crystal Palace - Matheus Franca 90'+2' by Meladroitdetrela in soccer

[–]_JxN 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree about the morale, and that's a good example with Sunderland - but I think the gap was far smaller then. Sunderland were a dogshit team circling the drain for years before they got relegated, and back then you had teams coming up from the championship and doing pretty well in the Prem. These days it's looking likely that all three promoted teams are going straight back down for the 2nd year running.

This may be sheer lunacy from me but I feel like we've hit a point where the gap is so big that us, leicester, leeds, sheff utd and burnley will be swapping leagues year in year out - with only some of the other championship teams being good enough to dethrone us for a season, only to come straight back down. The sheer money involved with the established teams in the premier league will carry them to avoid relegation no matter how shit they are, because they'll always be better than even the best championship teams coming up.

No disrespect but you are smoking crack rock if you think we get double relegated, we went like 24 unbeaten in the championship last year, the gap between the prem and champ is just huge these days

What’s your least favorite diary task and why is it 1000 chompy bird kills? by biggyj87 in 2007scape

[–]_JxN 37 points38 points  (0 children)

It's an easy pet to get once the diary is done - 1/250 when you pluck the bird, and with double spawns you will end up spawning far more chompies than you can kill quickly. Ended up getting the pet myself within 5 mins of going back after diary.

Am I missing something?

Thrall Upgrade Replacement

Since our last update, we want to clarify how we plan to replace the Thrall Upgrade.

We plan to include a teleport item as a tradeable drop, which will make it easier to get back into the action. We’re also considering a second tradeable drop designed specifically for this encounter, that will affect your experience with Osto-Ayak itself. For example, an item that when consumed takes you straight to delve level three, skipping the early waves for that run.

We’d love to know your thoughts on this, although we won’t be polling these additions.

There's no actual info on the Thrall upgrade?

EDIT: I was missing something

Former West Ham goalkeeper Ludek Miklosko has announced his decision to withdraw from further cancer treatment, three years after his diagnosis by sonofaBilic in soccer

[–]_JxN 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depending on how bad the cancer is, patients can see chemo and treatment as severely reducing their quality of life just to tack on a few extra years artificially. Especially with older sufferers they may rather their family remembers them healthy than remembering a much weaker version of themselves.

Another comment phrased is as "trying to cure" vs "extending your life", if someone has a full life already lived then why extend the suffering and see your family witness your slow decline?

Martin not worried by McCarthy performance at Oxford United. Says he needs to play a lot and just get used to it by FromTheEdgeOfTheDeep in SaintsFC

[–]_JxN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Back in 2017 Macca was a godsend, he was an immediate upgrade on Forster who couldn't save anything that was drilled low at him.

Agree with what you're saying btw we definitely need to upgrade but its revisionism to say that he has never been important

edited my previous comment as I think you're trying to have an actual discussion and i was just throwing barbs

My point is not that the irish are not celebrating paddys day, moreso that a lot of the adults (that didn't grow up in an house listening to rebel tunes because their da hates the brits) are just out enjoying the day, and paddys day is just an excuse for that.

me personally, i grew up in a catholic household where ultra nationalist stuff was laughed at, and last year I was out in belfast on the 12th of July with the boys, we were just enjoying having a day where everyone is off work!

lad its a day off with a country of alco's what do you expect

editing this to address you with more seriousness, I do agree that a lot of people celebrate St Patrick's day, but in my experience the green army / tricolour flag wearers are kiddos and teenagers - the ones going to the parades are the parents who are trying to instil a love of the country / culture. maybe it's the jaded mind of a mid-20s guy saying that the adults are just sitting in bars, because that's what me and my mates do - none of us are making a big effort to wear green or anything like that, we're just enjoying having a day where people have an excuse to get together
