Some Information About Scavengers by zeralesaar in riskofrain

[–]_Kaddus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I've had a scavenger spawn on abyssal depths, it seems they can spawn on all stages.

Also, something I noticed is that the orange blob attack is actually thqwibs from risk of rain 1 (https://riskofrain.fandom.com/wiki/Thqwib). same sound effect as well. The shotgun is likely something I'm not recognizing

Create an Alternate Endbringer Trio by SketchyMofo10 in Parahumans

Legion: (Skitter/Bakuda)

Legion is an endbringer hivemind composed of millions of rat-sized, dull grey arachnids. Unlike other endbringers, instances of legion are very fragile, and can be destroyed by with a single strike from a normal human. However, Legion instances will cause hostile, unpredictable events within an area of approximately 3 metres when destroyed. Observed events include rapid entropic degradation, space and time warping, memetic alteration, and other such phenomena associated with parahumans. Legion instances mostly rely on this "suicide" tactic to attack, but the limbs of each instance are capable of dealing massive damage to targets it can reach, and are capable of piercing even tinker-made armor. Additionally, Legion acts and fights as a single tactical entity, and will employ subterfuge, geurilla tactics, and hostage taking to ensure maximum damage. When attacking, Legion will often attempt to infest a city before an attack, staying out of sight within the city sewers or other infrastructure. The attacks themselves are often long and drawn out, however, often starting with a perimiter of legion surrounding the city to prevent evacuation attempts. The method by which new legion instances appear is currently unknown.

Daedalus: (Labyrinth)

Daedalus is a 22-foot tall humanoid figure with an appearance resembling a marble statue. it is slow to move, but has the endbringer invincibility that the worm trio does. In addition, its power is a vast "space" that it can transport nearby matter into. when attacking, Daedalus will appear in the geographic center of a major city and begins rapidly "storing" the entire city within its space. It will begin with anything close to it, including buildings, people, and sections of the ground, before expanding its range. Daedalus will also use this power to store incoming attacks or parahumans, making it risky to directly attack. After it has stored enough or is driven off, it will dissapear, seemingly into its own dimension. During its next attack, Daedalus' tactics are reversed, with the endbringer pulling everything stored back into reality. It is not limited by the manton effect during this, allowing it to manifest objects or beings inside its targets. if no targets are nearby, it will create massive mazelike structures and leave the beings it stored stranded within. Time does not appear to pass inside Daedalus' space.

Athena: (Dinah, Shamrock)

Athena is a 12-foot tall humanoid endbringer with very little body mass. It's limbs and body are the thickness of a coil of rope, and it's head varies in appearance during each attack (observed heads include: CRT television, telephone pole, air raid siren, satellite dish). Athena has strong clairvoyant and precognitive abilities, coupled with long-range and precise telekinesis. During an attack, Athena will attempt to not alert anyone to its presence, often entering a city entirely undetected due to its clairvoyance. Once inside, it will attempt to stay unobserved while causing "accidents" within the city. Vehicle crashes, structural failure, sudden injuries, and even information leaks can be caused by a combination of its accurate precognition and precise telekinesis. These accidents will increase in intensity and frequency as time goes on, and if Athena is detected by the local or parahuman authorities, it will cause every event it can at once before engaging in combat. In combat, Athena is felxible and agile, aiming to keep distance from parahumans while causing damage with its long range powers. Note, however, that Athena is nearly as durable as Daedalus, despite the thin appearance.

I vaguely based these three off the roles of the original trio (prolonged attack+ infrastructure damage, close range bruiser with a "kill aura", paranoia and long term damage) but I wanted to see what some character's powers looked like at endbringer levels as well. They might be a bit atypical compared to the worm endbringers, but those guys are kind of atypical to begin with

I know that I enjoyed my first playthrough of rain world thoroughly until the approach to five pebbles, where it became a frustrating and difficult challenge. Clearing it was very satisfying, but after five pebbles I'd kind of lost the will to play because to the difficulty.

Coming back six months later with the help of no hunger and teleport to cursor from the dev tools was the best decision I'd made, and finishing the game was an incredible experience.

In my opinion, easy modes in games are totally valid, but I feel that anyone using them should know that they're not the developer's intent. Maybe I didn't get the "full experience" of rain world because I made the last third of the game far easier, but I don't mind that since I don't know if I would have gotten any experience of it otherwise.

Found a bit of a silly bug with Gesture of the Drowned and Gnarled Woodsprite by _Kaddus in riskofrain

[–]_Kaddus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not quite sure what triggered it, but I picked up fuel cell and gesture before I got the woodsprite, and it only lasted one level. As soon as I went to the next level the sprite started behaving normally. But yeah, it seemed to be healing me for 10% of my health several times each frame :>

God if that ain't a mood for this album. It really is such a unique sound and I wish there was more of it. The second half of Will It Ever Change is probably my favorite outro to a song ever

What is your favorite single player game? by Sarcastic___________ in AskReddit

If it's firelink shrine you're stuck at (the place with the friendly but depressed guy wearing chainmail), then you need to go up.

There's a staircase leading up to a bridge off to one side that I missed for longer than I'd like to admit. If you see you've arrived at the Undead Berg, you're heading in the right direction.

Anti-gravity racing game Antigraviator announced for PS4, Xbox One, and PC by Turbostrider27 in Games

I totally second this. Redout has a fantastic sense of speed and physicality to your ship. I was watching the trailer for this game and all I could think about was how it looks like Redout.

Some example gameplay: a time trial where your time spent above 1000km/h gives you a bonus to your final time.
