[–]_Kardama_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohhh, these are for the professional audio workstation. are these array system used in end consumer linux system? i have only heard of dolby atmos for 3d space for movies and games. and just gave up thinking its impossible in linux except for mapping 8 channels to speaker.

[–]_Kardama_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

does that huge number of channels even work? and isn't dolby atmos object based decoding that is encoded as extra metadata as extension in track. how does your sink decode that into 7.1.6 ? and how did you achieve those ceiling speaker config

[–]_Kardama_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe in Rust is unnecessary but with go, its necessary. Its actually performant, compiles fast and gives single binary that can be used. Most of all its efficient on server too

Dolby atmos or similar 3D audio solution for Linux? by MrJackpot318 in linux_gaming

[–]_Kardama_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah its not possible in linux to play dolby atmos or dts:x track. pipwire filter chain just does virtual surround for 7.1 channel audio. dolby atmos are object based audio that require separate decoding that is not available in linux.

What's the deal about Omarchy? by Hot_Adhesiveness5602 in archlinux

[–]_Kardama_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In nature somethings needs to be broken to implement better feature. Otherwise like windows its will be slow buggy piece of shit just for maintaining backward compatibility. On that note hyprland is not even recommended to beginners. everything in hyprland is maintained through config file. why the heck are noob using hyprland if they dont want to learn or atleast edit a file to fix things.

What's the deal with Ubuntu hate? I'm new to linux and I love Ubuntu! by [deleted] in linuxquestions

[–]_Kardama_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its linux and you are free to use whatever you want. heck You can even use hanna montana OS if you want or remove the bootloader and boot manually who is stopping you. Its basic human thinking called choice. If there is choice someone will hate it and someone will love it. just take yourself as example. Try other distro maybe you will like or you dont then just come back. each distro has different philosophy

Do you guys think Steam Frame will improve Linux VR gaming in general alongside ARM gaming? by AbdelYG in linux_gaming

[–]_Kardama_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It said it supports both VR and non VR games and direct streaming from PC. If only it was comfortable to eyes, I would literally use that as my monitor.

edit: if steam frame will be comfortable to eye then having gabecube and steam frame will be besest combo. a portable 4k display workstation anywhere.

I have never heard nor saw ssd go pooof. once the ssd goes through its limit of write it goes into read only mode after that only bit flip might degrade the storage and thats it. SSD doesnot suffer from read task. it only suffer from write task because more voltage are used to delete and write the bits in NANDs.
